Another amazing summer of literacy, community, and learning! Four years of impact and growth all thanks to our amazing village!
A sign of a great summer is the energy is the same or higher on day 28 that it was on day 1! Our SLIs brought the energy and vibes all summer long! 👏🏽 We are already receiving “I miss Freedom School!” messages 🥺 You brought the positivity and flexibility each day! Thanks for being receptive to feedback, open to new ideas, and being team players! Each of you (including SC & PD) truly embody the essence of servant leadership! 🫶🏽
To First United Methodist Church West Lafayette THANK YOU for continuing to be thought and ACTION partners in this work and opening your doors to us each summer! First Church ⛪️ is truly another home 🏡 to many of our community! 🫶🏽
To thank you for supporting this community-engaged education research! To Dr. Tara Star Johnson, Dr. Wayne Wright, Dr. Selcen Guzey, Dr. , the grant, finance team, my administrative assistant and more, thanks for everything! Special shoutout to our Math education faculty and graduate students who have led activities for the past four summers!
Thank you to Drs. Loudermill and Temi for your partnerships and support in this work! 🙏🏽
To our parents and guardians….YOU ROCK!! 🎸 Thanks for your active involvement, advocacy, and organization/participation in our parent meetings, board, staff training, and just stepping up and volunteering however we need! Thank you Jazmyn B. Nichols for being our 2026 parent lead, traveling with our staff to National Training, and supporting us onsite and with the parent community this year! Special thanks to the Conard-Salvo family Tammy Conard-Salvo Michael Salvo for coming almost daily to feed fresh snacks to our scholars! We appreciate ALL OF YOU! 🫶🏽
Community partners, thank you! Cooking Matters, Chase Bank, Junior Achievement, every parent meeting workshop presenter, every read aloud guest, every Purdue clinical student, JSLIs, and volunteers-thank you! 😊
Last, for every donor, your contributions make this work possible! To the First Church foundation, Indiana Afterschool Network, Yellow Birch, Lafayette Kiwanis Club, CF of Elkhart County, Saint John’s Episcopal Church, Laf, Chapel of The Good Shepherd, and more…Thank you!
Signed, Dr. Breanya Hogue ❤️
