Happy EMS Week! ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’™

This week we celebrate the calm in the chaos, the heroes behind the sirens, and the professionals who somehow survive on caffeine, adrenaline, and questionable gas station food.

Thank you to all EMS providers for the compassion, sacrifice, humor, and dedication you bring to every shift. Your work matters more than words can express. Stay safe, stay strong, and know your community appreciates you every day.

Prayers to the officers, the family and the fellow officers.

Two Fall River, MA police officers were shot early Sunday morning during a violent struggle with an armed suspect. One officer was struck in the elbow; another was shot in the abdomen but saved by his ballistic vest. A third officer was also involved.

At The Wounded Blue, we stand with these injured officers, their families, and the entire Fall River law enforcement community.

๐Ÿš’ Firefighter health matters! A new sleep study from West Metro Fire Rescue in Colorado found that early 7 a.m. shift start times were cutting into firefightersโ€™ rest โ€” even before responding to calls. To help crews get better restorative sleep and improve alertness and safety on long 48-hour shifts, the department voted to move shift start times later โ€” from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. starting in January. The change follows months of data showing more natural rest can support performance, reduce reliance on caffeine, and benefit long-term health. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’
๐Ÿ‘‰ What do you think โ€” could later start times help firefighters stay safer and healthier?
