October is Manufacturing Month!

Across Indiana, manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to work smarter, improve efficiency, solve challenges, and stay competitive - and technology is increasingly part of that equation.

At WHIN, we help bridge the gap between innovation and implementation. Through our Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) program, we work directly with manufacturers to identify real-world challenges and explore how technologies like sensors, connectivity, automation, and data can help solve them.

This Manufacturing Month, we’re proud to celebrate the manufacturers throughout Indiana who keep building, innovating, and finding better ways to get the job done!

We’re excited to welcome BranValt as a WHIN Tech Partner!

BranValt is already making an impact with the WHIN Ag Alliance, most recently through the Harvest Academy at the 2026 WHIN Ag Summit. Their hands-on combine training gave farmers the opportunity to dig deeper into harvest efficiency, loss reduction, and the technology available to help them get more from every acre.

A big thank you to the BranValt team for sharing their expertise with our farmers and helping make this year’s Harvest Academy such a valuable experience.

We’re looking forward to continuing to work together as we connect farmers with innovative technologies, practical education, and new opportunities for adoption.

Welcome to the WHIN network, BranValt!

What a great day at GCXpo 2026!

Carl Havixbeck and Neil Wagner represented the AIVA Network & WHIN at Area X.O in Ottawa, connecting with farmers, innovators and industry partners while getting an up-close look at some of the technologies shaping the future of agriculture.

Along with meeting attendees at the AIVA booth in the Ag Pavilion, the team joined the conversation around how demonstration farms and real-world farmer feedback can help validate agtech and move promising solutions toward adoption.

Events like GCXpo are a great opportunity to bring together the people developing new technologies and the farmers who can help put them to the test in real-world conditions and that’s exactly the kind of connection we are all about.

Thanks to Area X.O and Invest Ottawa for bringing Canada’s innovation community together for a great day of demonstrations, conversations and connections!

We’re still riding the momentum from the 2026 WHIN Ag Summit!

This year’s Summit brought together farmers, agtech companies, industry partners, and friends from across the region for an afternoon focused on connection, practical innovation, and the future of agriculture.

From hands-on demos and conversations with technology companies to BranValt’s Harvest Academy and insights shared throughout the day, we’re grateful to everyone who helped make the event such a success.

A special thank you to our sponsors - HHSB INC, First Merchants Corporation Bank, Duke Energy Corporation, and Channel Seed - for helping make the day possible; to all of the companies who joined us with booths and demonstrations; to Hoosier Ag Today for being part of the event; and to BranValt for hosting the Harvest Academy.

And most importantly, thank you to every farmer, partner, participant, and friend who spent the day with us. The conversations and connections are what make events like this worthwhile.

This week, our team completed a CO₂ sensor installation in the headspace of a concrete grain bin in Fowler, Indiana.

While CO₂ monitoring has been used in grain storage applications, this installation expands that capability to concrete grain bins, giving farmers greater visibility into stored grain conditions through easy-to-read graphs showing current and historical data.

By monitoring CO₂, temperature, and humidity, these sensors can provide valuable insight into grain conditions and help identify potential issues early, supporting grain quality and reducing the risk of product loss.

We’re excited to welcome Neil Wagner to the WHIN team as our new Technology Adoption Manager!

In this role, Neil will work directly with farmers to help implement and adopt innovative agricultural technologies through hands-on, on-farm support, pilot programs, and collaboration with industry partners. He’ll also work closely with Carl Havixbeck and the AIVA Network in Canada, helping strengthen connections between farmers, technology companies, and opportunities for real-world testing and adoption.

We’re thrilled to have Neil on board and look forward to the experience and perspective he’ll bring as WHIN and AIVA continue helping farmers explore, test, and put new technologies to work on the farm.

Sometimes innovation starts right next door.

The WHIN IaaS team deployed sensors at the nearby Purdue Technology Center to help improve visibility into the building’s infrastructure and provide better insight into how its systems are performing.

With WHIN headquartered just down the road at the Kurz Purdue Technology Center, this project is especially close to home - and another great example of how IoT technology can help buildings operate smarter.

Yesterday, Carl Havixbeck was on the ground at Innovation Farms Ontario for AIVA Network Demo Days, getting a firsthand look at agricultural technology operating in real-world crop conditions, including corn, soybeans, and onions.

Days like this are what AIVA is all about - bringing people together in the field to see technology in action, ask questions, share perspectives, and better understand how emerging solutions perform in the environments where farmers actually work.

It was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and continue building the relationships that help move agricultural innovation from promising technology to practical on-farm value.

Thanks to Innovation Farms Ontario for bringing the agriculture community together for a great day in the field!
