Purdue University Tagore Society

Purdue University Tagore Society Purdue University Tagore Society (PUTS) came into existence in the year 2002.

The Tagore Society at Purdue University aims to bring together students, faculty and staff, through our common quest for appreciating, celebrating and spreading the Bengali culture on campus. Since then, it has been an integral part of the life on campus through various cultural and social activities. A part of its mission has been showcasing in and around the campus the Bengali culture, deeply influenced by the work and philosophy of the Nobel laureate poet and author Rabindranath Tagore.

Bijoya Sammilani 2025

As Bengalis, the surest way to lift our spirits is always through good food, hearty laughter, and endless adda sessions. And when the festivities fade and the semester feels too long, what could be better than a familiar dose of home?

The Purdue University Tagore Society invites you to Bijoya Sammilani — an evening that recreates the comfort of our roots through art (rangoli, and origami), songs, dances, games (yes, even conch blowing, and passing the parcel!), a sprinkle of trivia, and delicious dinner. Join us to bring a little bit of home to Purdue. Please don’t forget to RSVP (link coming soon).
