Purdue University Tagore Society (PUTS) came into existence in the year 2002.

The Tagore Society at Purdue University aims to bring together students, faculty and staff, through our common quest for appreciating, celebrating and spreading the Bengali culture on campus. Since then, it has been an integral part of the life on campus through various cultural and social activities. A part of its mission has been showcasing in and around the campus the Bengali culture, deeply influenced by the work and philosophy of the Nobel laureate poet and author Rabindranath Tagore.

We're on our silver jubilee year! ✨✨
For the last 25 years, the efforts of generations of students came together to lift PUTS to its current presence. With every community event, every sport, every performance and every gathering we have that brings people together irrespective of their state or country of origin, we carry with us the grit and spirit that have come to define our cultural society.

Stay tuned for the various events we have lined up for this year, among them (and definitely not limited to) sports, dramas, quizzes and cultural celebrations!

From রাত জেগে রান্না to making live rolls at the counter, we did make it!
Behind the amazing food were our incredible volunteers who gave their time, energy, and heart to make Taste of Bengal at the Global Fest 2026 a huge success. You guys are the real heroes of this event!

Here’s a little glimpse of Global Fest 2026. But honestly, no number of pictures could ever truly capture all the effort, late nights, and teamwork that went into making this event happen.

A huge shout-out to everyone tagged in this post! And if we missed tagging you, please comment below and let us know. You deserve it and we want to celebrate you too!

Also a big thanks to International Center of WL for letting us use their resources.

Dear Purdue, gear up for some homely Bengali chicken rolls and fish fries at West Lafayette! 😋

Yes, you read that right - and we'll be here with the food at the Global Fest on Saturday (September 19).

And now more than ever, we need volunteers too - so if you're free, come down on Friday and Saturday to help us prepare the mouthwatering delicacies and with the overall logistics of the fest stall. Join the WhatsApp group at the link in our bio to sign up!

P. S. What's on the menu this Saturday is on the poster too. No bluffs 😉

The melodies return. *Rabindra Jayanti 2026* is here.

Join the Purdue University Tagore Society as we come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Rabindranath Tagore—a maestro whose words, music, and ideas continue to inspire across generations. The evening will feature music, dance, recitations, and performances that bring his timeless creations to life.

Additionally we're also planning a watch party. We’d love to make this viewing experience more engaging by letting you choose what we watch. Here are the two options:

🎬 A film by Satyajit Ray inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s story
🎥 A documentary exploring Rabindranath Tagore's life and legacy

Alongside the cultural program, dinner will be served as we share a warm and memorable evening together.

May 9, 2026 (Saturday)
5:30 PM onwards
KRAN 140 (Krannert Building, Purdue University)

Entry Fee: $2 per person (Cash/TooCool)
RSVP link in bio!!

Let’s gather to celebrate the maestro—through art, expression, and community.
