HUMANITARIAN DISASTER RESPSONSE ⛑️

Providing critical medications & care to communities in need after catastrophic events, powered by Jase Medical🌎

Activating essential medications, medical supplies & expert personnel for global disaster response.

05/25/2026

Today, we remember the men and women who gave everything in service to others.

Their sacrifice is why we train, prepare, and respond — so that in moments of crisis, people are not left alone.

Freedom has always carried a cost. May we honor it not only with remembrance, but through lives marked by courage, service, and compassion.

Welcome to the Jase Weekly Threat Assessment for May 15, 2026: https://youtu.be/DHLbzjOXKDE?si=UnDBmQuAagPcFssV

This week, Aaron Asay, Executive Director of Jase Response puts on his professor hat for a deep-dive biological lesson on Hantavirus — what it is, why it's been in the news, and whether you actually need to worry about it.

🦠 Hantavirus 101 — What You Need to Know:

1. Hantavirus is endemic to the Four Corners region (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico) and spreads through rodent droppings, urine, and saliva that get aerosolized and inhaled
2. Most people's immune systems handle it without illness — but if it progresses to severe pulmonary disease, it can be up to 30% lethal
3. It is a single-strand RNA virus (similar to COVID and Ebola) that mutates frequently — which is why public health officials watch it closely
4. It is NOT transmissible human-to-human in the US strains — with one known exception: the Andes strain from South America

🚢 The Cruise Ship Outbreak — 11 cases and 3 fatalities were linked to a cruise ship traveling from Argentina. The Andes strain is the only known Hantavirus that has shown limited human-to-human transmission, and contact tracing is still underway. This is not a pandemic-level event — it is self-limiting and poses no risk unless you had direct, close contact with symptomatic patients.

🌍 Travel Safety Reminder — Traveling doesn't make you invincible. Keep the same risk awareness you'd have at home. Wash your hands, practice normal hygiene, and stay aware of your surroundings — but don't go overboard. Over-sanitizing can actually weaken your immune system.

⚠️ Other Threats This Week:

1. Terrorism risk from lone wolves, radicalized groups, and embedded foreign actors remains unchanged
2. Wildfire, tornado, and hurricane season is ramping up — carry your EDC kit including a small power bank and charging cable at all times

The bottom line: No need to panic. Travel, explore, enjoy the world — just do it with your eyes open.

🌧️ Just weeks ago, a once-in-a-generation storm hit Hawaii.

Floodwaters surged. Communities were cut off. Access to medical care disappeared almost overnight.
Jase Response was there.

Our team mobilized in Oʻahu during the first critical hour, delivering essential medications and restoring care where it was needed most.

Jase Response is the nonprofit arm of Jase Medical—built for moments like this.

When disasters overwhelm local systems and shut down infrastructure, we step in, fast.

Recent deployments:
🔥 Maui Fires (2023)
🔥 Los Angeles Fires (2025)
🌧️ Jamaica Floods (2025 & 2026)
🌊 Hawaii Floods (2026)

Disasters are increasing. So is the need for on-the-ground medical care. 💪We’re committed to being ready before the next crisis hits.

Special thank you to the generosity of for making this mission possible.

Field Update: Hawaii Flood Response

Recovery is underway—and the spirit of this community is strong.

Across impacted areas, neighbors, volunteers, and local organizations are coming together to clear debris, restore homes, and take the first steps toward rebuilding. It’s steady, hands-on work—and it’s happening together.

Jase Response remains on the ground, continuing to meet evolving needs as they arise.

From our medical tent to mobile field teams, we’re helping support the health and well-being of those doing the hard work of recovery—while also reaching individuals who aren’t able to access care on their own.

We’re working alongside local partners to ensure care is accessible, consistent, and ready—so recovery can keep moving forward.

🤝 Recovery is underway in Hawaii—but it’s not without risk.

As communities begin cleanup, injuries and infections from contaminated floodwaters are becoming a real concern—and access to medications isn’t always guaranteed.

Jase Response is on the ground, ready to respond—treating injuries, cleaning wounds to prevent infection, and providing essential medications when prescriptions are out of reach.

This is what it looks like to support recovery in real time.

The resilience here is powerful. Thank you for fueling us to continue this important work!
