Moz Mission – I AM, IMMANUEL
I have become so fascinated by learning more about the Names of God so, when I began thinking about this year's Christmas bags for the children of Moz Mission, my thoughts went far back when we first started this special project through SA Cares for Life. The idea was simple, but powerful: to pack a special box for every child registered in our projects and, through that gift, to share a personal message of love, hope and value with each one. Through the years, we have packed thousands of boxes.
And now... it is that time of the year again to whisper to a vulnerable child: “I see you. I care. You are loved.”

For our children in Mozambique, a sling backpack is more practical than a normal cart box
as a backpack that can become a school bag, a sports bag, or be used to gathering roots for the family's meal that evening. The children love the backpacks and it is used throughout the year, so the words printed on them are just as important as what we place inside them.

This year, because of where I find myself in my own spiritual journey, I felt led to use the answer God gave Moses in Exodus 3 when he asked what must he tell the people who send him and God said: “tell them I AM What I Am is Who send you.”

The colour for this year’s bags will be orange with these words: I AM - Immanuel. I AM will be the message to share when giving out the bags introducing the children to the many beautiful things God is through His Names. He is the God who loves, cares, protects, heals., provides, sees and who is always present.

But I also want them to begin discovering who they are. How God sees them. That they are loved. That they are chosen. That they have purpose. And that they have a future.

Moz Mission - Sparkle with Dignity
Following up on my previous post, I feel compelled to share something that has been stirring in my heart: The Faithfulness of God as El Shaddai – God who is more than enough.

As I have been trusting Him to provide for the work we are doing in Mozambique, two unexpected and exciting opportunities opened during my recent visit to the USA.

I don’t often ask so directly for support, but when God opens a door, I want to walk through it – and I want you to know about it too, because you are part of what God is doing and together we can sow seeds into Mozambique and trust God for a harvest that reach far beyond what we can see.
From Charity to Dignity

Moz Mission: The ONE Thing
I am back home after a wonderful five-week visit with my children and grandchildren in the USA. Just before I left, my daughter asked me a question:
“Mom, what is the ONE thing you will remember most?”

After arriving back home, strangely enough, more people asked me the very same question. And honestly, I struggled to find that ONE thing.
There were so many precious moments and special times with my children, grandchildren, sister and new friends. Great times of fun, laughter and memories I will treasure. There were also concerns about Justus being alone in Mozambique, thoughts about the work waiting for me when I returned, and questions about what the future holds for all of us.

The question of “the ONE thing” kept rolling around in my mind.
Until precious Holy Spirit reminded me of Psalm 27:4:
“One thing I ask from the Lord, the one thing I seek above all else …”
David’s ONE desire was to live in the awareness of God’s presence all the days of his life — to gaze upon Him, know Him and seek Him above everything else.
But my attention also fell on verse 11: “Teach me your way, Lord, and lead me in a straight path…” For several days I had been thinking about the ways of God and the meaning behind some of His names.

Then, this morning, I woke up from a terrifying dream. As I sought God for understanding, I clearly felt precious Holy Spirit whisper: “I want to teach you ‘The ONE Thing.’
Immediately, I remembered two names of God I had learned about just a day before:
El Elyon – God Most High (Ps57:2) The God who has supreme authority and power.
El Ma’on – God my dwelling place (ps90:1) The God who is my safe dwelling place and refuge.

As I began to think about this profound revelation of who God is, a deep peace and understanding about the dream flooded my soul. And suddenly, I realised:
If I can learn, like David, to live with a deep awareness of WHO GOD IS, then perhaps that really is the only ONE thing I will ever need for every circumstance of life.

The ONE thing about my visit to the USA became suddenly clear: God is faithful.
As I saw where my children live, work and build their lives, I was reminded that He is:
El Roi — God who sees, who knows us personally and cares about every detail of our lives.
Jehovah Jireh — Provider, the God who sees ahead and has the ability to provide for every need. When I think about the laughter, fun and precious relationships we shared, I am reminded that He is Immanuel — God with us. He is Abba Father, our loving Father who desires relationship with us, and El Chay — the Living God, who is actively involved in our lives and shares in our joy.

And when I think about Mozambique and all the work waiting for us there, I am reminded that He is Jehovah Nissi — my banner, my message and my victory.
He is Jehovah Jireh — the One who provides. He is Rohi — my Shepherd, the One who guides, feeds, protects and leads me.
Nothing is impossible with Him.

So today, can I challenge you to study some new names of God?
Discover who He is. Get to know Him more personally. May a specific name of God become real and personal to you. May it draw you closer to Him, help you trust Him more deeply, and remind you that you are fully known, fully seen and fully loved.

The ONE thing I will remember is: God is faithful.

My prayer is that you will discover your own ONE thing:
WHO GOD IS FOR YOU — in every circumstance.

Moz Mission and My USA Visit - Children: Beautiful Gifts from God.
We are having such special times together as you can see in the photos attached. No matter what we are doing, I am experiencing joy, laughter, meaningful conversations, care, friendship, and just love being together. What a blessing it is to see our children becoming loving parents themselves—raising their own families with care, support, companionship, faith, and deep love for each other.

While everyone is still asleep I am focusing on Jesus with gratitude in my heart for the privilege of being here with my children and grandchildren. Psalm 127 came to mind and I sense precious Holy Spirit whispering to my heart that every moment spent with each one of them is like opening a gift from God.

Ps 127 begins with: “Unless the Lord builds the house…” I find myself thinking about the years of nurturing, teaching, correcting, encouraging, and faithfully praying for each of our five children and my feelings of just being ordinary. But God… is showing me today that HE was shaping their lives during those years and now in this season of my life, I have the joy of opening His gifts to us.

Today, my prayer for you is to see the eternal value of building your family God's way. Keep on carrying the presence of Jesus into your home, your conversations, your adventures with your kids and into their hearts!

Parenthood is a season of faithful sowing; grandparenthood is a season of joyful harvesting. It is a beautiful partnership in the circle of God's design for families, where His purposes, wisdom and blessings flow from one generation to the next, reaching far beyond ourselves.

I will return to Mozambique with renewed understanding that our life callings for our own family, SA Cares for Life and Mozambique are not separate, they are part of the same Kingdom story and the beautiful circle of being partners in what God is building.

26 June 2026 | Mos Mission
On the 17th of June, Justus and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary. ❤️
The beautiful messages from our 5 children stirred something deep within us of how we first met and of the reasons we chose each other almost five decades ago.

Each message was precious to us. We received them as if God Himself was saying thank you for making His heart known to the people who matters most to us: our own children.

There could be no greater blessing for parents.

A friend wrote to us saying: “You named your home in Mozambique House Hineni (God says, "Whom shall I send?" and the answer comes, "Here am I. Send me.") Knowing you seems to me that those words have not only named your house—they have described your lives. May God continue to bless you both richly.”

June has always been a very special month in our lives. Forty-eight years ago, we made a commitment not only to our marriage but also to intentionally celebrate it every year. We have always tried to spend this time away together, reflecting on our unity and God's goodness and faithfulness throughout our journey.

This June has been especially memorable.
Firstly, I finally completed our long-awaited Mozambique Ministry Report, sharing the many projects and lives touched through God's grace.
Secondly, our daughter blessed me with a plane ticket to visit her and the family in the USA during the school holidays—a gift I am deeply grateful for.
And finally, the greatest reason to celebrate: our daughter Lisa has completed her last "red" chemotherapy treatment. We praise God for His faithfulness, strength, and sustaining grace throughout this difficult journey. She now begins the final 12 weeks of weekly chemotherapy treatments, and we continue to trust God for His complete healing in her body, soul, and spirit.

Thank you to everyone who has faithfully prayed, encouraged us, and walked this road with our family. Your love means more than words can express.

Moz Mission – Dreams
I recently started reading books on dream interpretation and the more I start to concentrate on remembering and writing down my dreams and specifically communicating with my special and precious friend, Holy Spirit, about them, the more I experience how God speaks specifically to my heart almost every night.

Yes, there is a lot to say about dreams and interpretation and yes, dreams are the body's way of processing things that happen during the day, but the Word of God is full of examples that God can also give you direction and wisdom and His thoughts through dreams.

I briefly want to share one dream with you. I dreamed that I was in my house and was closing the door because I saw three big dangerous dogs outside that wanted to come in. One dog did manage to push the window open and came in and came for me. I felt his teeth and spit in my hands as I tried to stop him while screaming for help and the next moment Justus was there and shot the dog.

The first interpretation that Holy Spirit gave me was that the three dogs are three mindsets. I then realized that I have been thinking and praying about three specific things lately.
1. Finances for us personally and our work in Mozambique.
2. Our calling to actually work in Moz at this stage of our lives and
3. About healing as my daughter is going through the chemo process fighting cancer.

Precious Holy Spirit gently showed me that my dream is clear that I have protected myself from 2 of the 3 things I am praying about but that I still need victory over one of these ways of thinking that can destroy my life. When I was able to identify this, I knew to close the window is to change my thinking as Rom 12:2 encourage us to do.

If you are thinking about the same things in your life, remember:
God is our faithful loving Father who cares and always provides more than we need.
1. Close the door on WORRY about finances to stand, walk and live by faith about who Father God is.
2. 2. Close the door on DOUBT and stand in faith that you are called by God to be worthy in whatever you are doing.
3. Close the door on FEAR by changing your mindset to think like God because healing has already been purchased for us by Jesus' blood.

God sees the end from the beginning and has given us a promise in Isaiah 55:10 to hold on to: “As the rain comes down from heaven and waters the earth, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so is My Word that will not return to Me void, but will accomplish what it was sent for.”

I would like to encourage you to become more aware of what you dream and write it down. Ask your closest friend, precious Holy Spirit within you, to give you the interpretation and see what God is saying to you in your dreams to guide and protect you.

Moz Mission - To Pray
Early one morning while walking on the beach, I was looking at the waves and the rays of the sun coloring the sky so beautifully and felt so aware of the presence of God and I felt precious Holy Spirit gently say: “Pray”

Immediately I thought about the words Jesus taught his disciples “Father, Your will be done, Your Kingdom come here in Mozambique as it is in heaven”

As I said this, more spontaneous thoughts came to my heart about what God’s will for us here could be: To release God’s Word over the city, the projects and individual people, declaring that His word never returns void, but accomplishes what it is sent to do.

Justus and I sincerely want to thank every person who has supported this “Mos Mission” journey. Thank you not only for your generosity in financial support, but more for believing in us, encouraging us, giving goods, praying and helping to make it possible for us to be here.

I came back from the beach, full of faith, hope and vision to be part of establishing God’s Kingdom here. We carry the King within us. It is part of our identity and design to co-reign with Jesus and to speak forth life where there is destruction, healing where there is pain, peace where darkness has influenced hearts and circumstances. We are here to establish His love, His authority and His presence into places that still feel broken and chaotic.
