National Women’s Equality Day

Today, we celebrate the women who paved the way, and the women building what comes next.

At Utah Women in Trades, we believe women belong in every trade, on every jobsite, and at every level of leadership.

Breaking news! Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has signed SB 3465 into law, requiring construction sites to provide free menstrual products and, on sites with 10+ workers, to provide private restrooms for women or people who menstruate, as well as expanded accommodations for lactating workers.

Led by Chicago Women in Trades and sponsored by State Senator Graciela Guzman (D-20) and State Rep Theresa Mah(D-24), this law finally addresses what's gone unregulated for too long: basic dignity on the job site.

The new law goes into effect on January 1, 2027.

National Nonprofit Day

Today, we’re celebrating what makes Utah Women in Trades possible: community.

We believe skilled trades careers are more than a job, they’re opportunities to build confidence, create stability, support families, and strengthen Utah’s workforce.

Every woman who steps into a training program, earns a credential, starts an apprenticeship, or finds her place in the trades is part of something bigger.

And none of this happens alone.

We’re incredibly grateful for the employers, unions, instructors, donors, volunteers, industry partners, and supporters who invest in this work and believe in the women we serve.

More than a job. We’re building a community.

Thank you for being part of it.

Utah’s building fast, but our job sites are missing key talent.

The labor shortage isn't just a challenge, it’s an opportunity to open doors for women in the skilled trades. Diverse crews don't just fill seats; they make job sites safer, smarter, and more productive.

We’re here to bridge the gap and rewrite the blueprint for Utah’s future.
