Augie's Story:

This impossibly perfect little guy is Augie. This sweet little guy has an approximate birthdate of 8/5/26, so he's just a few weeks old. This tiny little guy was found in a pool cover as a lone, tiny stray kitten who's eyes were still closed. Thankfully he was quickly taken to one of our wonderful foster homes who bottle fed him and raised him into the little bundle of kitten perfection that you see now! This little cutie is still enjoying the spoiled life in his foster home, where he has lots of kitten friends, as well as adult cats and a dog!

Augie is what we call a "velcro kitty". He wants to be everywhere you are, no matter where it is and what you are doing. He simply will not take "no" for an answer! He will climb a person's leg to get up to their face so that he can give cute head bumps and rub his sweet face against yours. He also will wiggle around and inevitably end up on his back, showing you his cute as can be belly.

Each day is a fun-filled adventure for Augie and he has an absolute ball, running, playing, jumping and wrestling with his foster siblings, adult cats and dog. He is one well rounded guy!

Since this sweet guy has been handled a lot, he is well acclimated to people and loves to snuggle up with them almost as much as he loves snuggling up with the other kittens. He is a social butterfly and total lovebug. It would be IDEAL if this little cutie could be adopted with another HSMC kitten. Kittens adopted in pairs do SO MUCH better than kittens adopted alone. They are better adjusted and socialized, less "bitey", generally happier, plus no one can play with a kitten the way that another kitten can. Trust us when we tell you, you don't want a Kittenzilla loose in your home! Look up, "Single Kitten Syndrome". It's a real thing and it's REALLY no fun for people or the kitten. Plus you save two lives instead of one!

Being so young, this tiny little guy would do just fine in a home with other kitties, or cat-friendly dogs. Care must be taken to protect his small size from being stepped on, sat on, hurt by a larger animal, or unintentionally injured by young children.

Would you like to meet this sweetheart and another HSMC kitten too? If so, please complete an application and schedule a meet and greet once your application is approved. Remember that this little cutie resides in a foster home and is not at the shelter, so a meet and greet must be scheduled!

Bosco's Story:

This little darling is Bosco. This sweet little guy has an approximate birthdate of 7/29/26, so he's just a few weeks old. This tiny little guy came to us a lone, tiny stray kitten who's eyes had barely just opened. Thankfully he was quickly taken to one of our wonderful foster homes who bottle fed him and raised him into the little cutie patootie that you see now!

Sweet Bosco just made his way to the shelter, but he's ready to make tracks and make his way into his loving forever home.

Each day is a fun-filled adventure for this cutie and he has an absolute ball, running, playing, jumping and wrestling with the other kittens in the kitten room. Bosco is a super socialized guy as he had other foster kittens, adult cats and a dog in his foster home. He is one well rounded guy!

Foster's Story:

This adorable little guy is the sweet as can be, Foster. Foster was found all alone on someone's porch and his eyes weren't even open yet! Thankfully he was quickly taken in by one of our wonderful fosters, and now he's ready to spring his way straight into his loving forever home!

Foster has an estimated birthdate of 7/29/26, so he's just a few weeks old. Foster's foster mom said that he made fast friends with all of the other foster kittens and resident cats and dog in his foster home. He simply couldn't be any sweeter.

Foster is now with us at the shelter and he's making fast fans of the staff and volunteers. He is a sweet little guy and he loves people as much as he loves other kittens. He loves nothing more than mixing it up and running around with the other kittens at the shelter. He loves toys too and his favorites are anything with bells, that make noise.

Foster would love to be adopted with another kitten from HSMC, as he's so accustomed to having playmates in his foster home and at the shelter. This is ideal because kittens adopted in pairs do so much better than kittens adopted alone. No one can play with a kitten the same way that another kitten can, plus you save two lives instead of one! Single Kitten Syndrome is a real thing, and it isn't pretty!

Being so young, Foster is really adaptable and would do great in just about any home, where there are resident cats and dogs. Sweet Foster would love to live in a home with children as well so that he can soak up all of the cuddles possible! Care must be taken to protect his tiny size though, as he needs to be protected from being injured by larger animals, or by children who are unintentionally rough with him. Little kittens are prone to getting kicked or stepped or sat on as well, so lots of care must be taken.

This daring little guy has a longer coat, and while it's cute and fluffy now, it will take more work as he gets older, and it will require lots of brushing to keep it looking its best and tangle free. Please take this into consideration if you are thinking about adopting him.

Would you like to meet the sweet as can be Foster and a hopefully a friend too? If so, please complete an application and schedule a meet and greet once your application is approved.

Breeze- Bonded with Puff

Some kittens start life with every advantage. Puff and Breeze started with almost none.

These bonded brothers, born around 7/29/26, were discovered in a carrier when they were only about two weeks old. Tiny, underweight, and desperately sick, they faced challenges no kitten should have to endure. These sweethearts were immediately transferred to a foster home where they could receive around the clock care. Tragically, they lost one of their siblings along the way. Through every bottle feeding, every vet visit, and every hurdle, one thing remained constant: they had each other.

Today, these brave little boys are thriving, playful kittens with big personalities and an unbreakable bond. Having been through so much together, they rely on one another for comfort, confidence, and companionship. Because of that, they must be adopted together. After everything they've survived, we can't imagine separating them now.

Puff, the fluffy brother, is the ringleader of the duo. He's bold, sassy, mischievous, and always convinced he has important kitten business to attend to. Puff is also known to occasionally use his tiny needle teeth on humans. While not ideal, it's not unusual for orphan kittens who never had a mama cat to teach them proper manners and kitten etiquette. With patience, redirection, and continued guidance, this behavior should improve as he grows. Puff also came to us with a degloved tail. It has healed up well, though he'll always have a slightly funny-looking tail that's uniquely his own.

Breeze is the short-haired half of this dynamic duo and the softer soul of the pair. He's affectionate, cuddly, and always ready to hand out purrs. While he can keep up with all of Puff's adventures, he's also perfectly happy curling up for snuggles when playtime is over.

Together, these boys are a whirlwind of kitten energy. They're always running, wrestling, climbing, exploring, and generally making sure there's never a dull moment. Like most kittens, they're happiest when they have a feline friend to chase, nap with, and learn from. In fact, kittens do best in pairs, and Puff and Breeze are the perfect example of why. They entertain each other, comfort each other, and help each other grow into confident, happy cats.

Because Puff is still working on his manners and those tiny teeth are surprisingly effective, they would do best in a home without small children. Their future family should be prepared for all the fun, chaos, and occasional mischief that comes with raising energetic orphan kittens.

If you're looking for twice the purrs, twice the fun, and twice the love, Puff and Breeze are ready to bring their incredible story and their inseparable friendship into your home. These little survivors have already beaten the odds. Now they're just waiting for a family who will love them both, exactly as they are.

Are you ready for the fun and sass that two little kittens can bring into your life? If so, please complete an application and once it's approved we will call you to schedule a meet and greet.

Weight's Story:

If sweetness were a competition, Weight would win without even trying.

This handsome house panther was born around 3/15/22, making him about 4 1/2 years old, and he came to us through no fault of his own after his owner entered a nursing home and family members were unable to keep him. Despite having his whole world unexpectedly changed, Weight has remained exactly what he's always been: a gentle, loving soul who takes life one cozy nap and one head scratch at a time.

Weight is the kind of cat who makes everything look easy. He's incredibly laid back, never causes a fuss, and gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets. He previously lived with his fellow black-cat buddy, Pause, and continues to be a social butterfly in our cat room, where he roams freely and enjoys the company of other kitties.

One look at Weight and you'll notice his adorable little trademark: an ear that resembles a crinkle-cut French fry. It's the result of several untreated ear infections from long ago, but these days it simply adds character to an already charming face. We happen to think it makes him even more endearing.

This sweetheart absolutely loves people. Whether you're young, old, or somewhere in between, Weight is ready to be your friend. He's affectionate without being demanding and content simply being near the people he loves. If there's a sunny window, a cat tree, and a human nearby, Weight is pretty sure life couldn't get much better.

Speaking of cat trees, they're one of his favorite things. Give him a perch by a window and he'll happily spend hours watching the world go by, keeping an eye on birds, squirrels, and neighborhood happenings from the comfort of his kingdom above.

Weight has never lived with dogs, but given his easygoing nature, we think he'd likely do well with a calm, cat-friendly dog who understands that friendships take a little time.

More than anything, Weight is just a genuinely good boy. He's kind, sweet, easy to love, and impossible not to root for. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart, a cute crinkle-cut ear, and enough affection to brighten every day, Weight is ready to make himself right at home in yours.

If you've been dreaming of a friendly, laid back and affectionate house panther with a heart full of love, then Weight is your boy! If you would like to meet this wonderful boy and make him a part of your family, please complete an application and once approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet.

Pause's Story:

Some cats leave paw prints on your heart. Pause leaves a print with a few extra toes!

This wonderful polydactyl gentleman was born around April 5, 2022, and at just 4 1/2 years old, and he's sporting an impressive set of Hemingway paws complete with extra toes that make his feet look like he's permanently wearing adorable fuzzy mittens. Seriously, his paws are a work of art.

Pause and another kitty named, Weight came to us after their owner entered a nursing home and family members could no longer care for them. Through it all, he has remained a calm, loving, and remarkably easygoing boy.

With his striking black coat, soulful eyes, and those oversized paws, Pause is impossible to forget. His extra toes give him the most adorable mitt-like feet, and they're often the first thing people notice. His sweet personality quickly becomes the second.

This boy is a world-class lovebug. He adores people, happily chats away in his delightfully funny meow, and seems to believe every human he meets is a potential friend. If you're looking for a conversationalist, Pause is your guy. He always has something to say and isn't shy about sharing his opinions.

Pause is roaming free in our kitty room and gets along wonderfully with the other cats. He's easygoing, drama-free, and never one to stir up trouble. While he hasn't lived with dogs before, his mellow personality suggests he'd likely do well with a calm, respectful, cat-friendly canine.

Mostly, Pause is looking for what every good cat deserves: a family to love and a cozy place to call home. In return, he'll provide companionship, conversation, endless affection, and the daily delight of admiring those incredible extra-toed paws.

If you've been dreaming of a friendly, affectionate house panther with giant polydactyl paws, an adorably silly meow, and a heart full of love, then Pause is your boy! If you would like to meet this charmer and make him a part of your family, please complete an application and once approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet.
