We are the love child of a wall-less university and an early art colony. We are writers, painters, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, photographers and, quite possibly, aerialists. We believe in the magic of the the happy accident, the serendipitous, and the alchemical. We trust in the energetic power of creativity, in breaking down systems and silos, and fostering empathy for one another through our works of art. We are old and young, trans and cis, black and white, and all shades in-between.We thrive on collaboration. We believe that a painter can help develop the eye of a poet, and a poet can fine-tune the ear of a musician. Through our individual commitment to our art, we help each other grow as artists. Through our individual commitment to each other, we help each other grow as creative citizens of the world.

When poet Kim Noriega’s full-length collection Naming the Roses arrived in the mail, I saw only roses on the cherry-red cover featuring an intuitive painting by Sarah Luczaj.
