Co-chaired by Salma Hayek Pinault, François-Henri Pinault, Zoë Kravitz, Cindy Sherman, Christy Turlington Burns, Olivia Wilde, Oprah Winfrey and Malala Yousafzai, the Kering Foundation celebrates 15 years with its second annual Caring for Women dinner to benefit three organizations: Malala Fund, National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), and New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
In an auction led by the legendary Lydia Fenet, the event raised over $3 million for NGOs addressing violence against women and children. Lots included items from Kering, Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Pomellato, Ginori 1735, and others, including one-of-a-kind fashion experiences and original artworks from Cindy Sherman, Wangechi Mutu, and Emily Yang (pplpleasr).
François-Henri Pinault said: « The ways we address violence against women and children are often fragmented and siloed. By bridging these efforts, we will accelerate change toward a world free of gender-based violence. That’s why I am proud to announce that the Kering Foundation is deepening and expanding its work and increasing its funding to break the cycle of violence from childhood into adulthood. »
The night closed with a performance by Grammy-nominated artist and songwriter Florence Welch of the band Florence + The Machine, followed by a DJ set by Coco & Breezy.
