I hope this message finds you all doing well, and enjoying the summer!!



Quick personal update: "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated" - Mark Twain. The pneumonia knocked me down hard, but I am out of the Hospital, recovering and will be ready again for fall season!

This season is going to be our best one yet.



All of the team managers have put forth some great effort this off season to get together, meet and go over some rule tweaks/changes etc that will lead to some significant improvements for all of us, and ensure that we have much more of a competitive balance between all the teams this season AND no forfeits; full rosters for every team.



The season starts on Saturday, September 14th



Our new player evaluation/draft will be Saturday, September 7th. This is ONLY for NEW players who are not on a team



Some rule updates to share:



Outside additions before the draft.
We are allowing teams, especially the ones that had issues with attendance or roster continuity, to add several players OUTSIDE of the draft. This will get these teams more consistent player attendance AND better quality rosters overall. If you have friends, family members etc that you would like to play this season, please let me or your manager know and we’ll get them on your team ASAP.



Male subs are back.
We are going to create a “male subs” list right before the season starts (I’ll take requests soon). Each week when subs are needed, the mangers will request the subs and we will do a random draw to select the subs; the subs will then be removed from the list until all names are used and then the list will start again. This way its totally by random draw or chance and EVERYONE who wants to gets a chance to sub.



Payments are due before the season starts or a firm payment plan with deposit is required.
This will allow us to do things like do more routine field maintenance, and not be week to week with things as we have been in the past.



5 Teams will make the playoffs.
We will have the #4 and #5 team play a ‘wild card’ game at the end of the season to get in to the playoffs this year.



Schedule will be released EARLY so people can plan; no more divisions.
Each team will play each other twice. I will have the full schedule done and released before next weekend so everyone can plan way in advance.

Hi Friends,



Welcome or welcome back! We are on the cusp of a new season staring with our annual player evaluations and draft tomorrow.



There are lots of important notes and updates for tomorrow AND this season, so please read this email entirely!



SCHEDULE FOR TOMORROW



- 9AM Rules Meeting with current managers & Brian ONLY

If you have a suggestion for a rules change, it must be submitted to your manager or to be by tonight….otherwise, wait until next season



Managers/Team Reps: Jeremy, Shari, Ashley, Rick, Garrett, Brandon, Andres, Josh G.





- 10 AM Evaluations will begin on time. This means if you are trying out, you should get to the field earlier to warm up and be ready.



-IF THE INFIELD IS TOO WET WE WILL USE JUST THE OUTFIELD



WE WILL DO FOUR BASIC DRILLS FOR EVALUATIONS:



-Infield/Grounders/Throws to first

-Outfield/pop flys/throw to cutoff

-Unlimited Arc Pitching

-Hitting



IF YOU ARE ALREADY ON A TEAM, YOU DO NOT NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN EVALUATIONS



-Jerseys



If you ordered a jersey last season it is ready and can be picked up tomorrow at the event; if you don’t come it will be given to your manager for distribution.



-Jersey Information for this season



-If you are a NEW player, switching teams OR want a new jersey for this season, please reply to this email with your shirt size, hat size, number and name or nickname for the back.



-Payments



Payments for this season are DUE TOMORROW



Payments for all players are due tomorrow and I expect everyone to show up tomorrow with a check, cash or credit/debit card to pay on time. This is for ALL PLAYERS, new or returning. This way we can get the jerseys ordered and rosters finalized in advance of the season.

OPENING DAY IS SATURDAY MARCH 9TH

THE REST OF THE GAMES WILL BE SUNDAY; WE ARE PLAYING ON SATURDAY ONCE TO BE A PART OF THE KIDS LEAGUE OPENING DAY FESTIVITIES..PLAN ON BRINGING YOUR FAMILY TO THIS ONE WE WILL HAVE GAMES, PRIZES, FOOD, VIDEO GAME TRUCK AND TEAM PHOTOGRAPHY FOR ALL OF US.
