The West Hempstead Public Library is looking for a pt cleaner.
PART- TIME CLEANER
POSITION AVAILABLE
PURPOSE: This position is responsible for seeing that the building and grounds are clean, safe, and free of hazards to public and staff.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• General cleaning of facility; empty trash receptacles, sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming
• Clean and sanitize staff room and all restrooms (toilets, sinks, floor, walls and mirrors) and stock with paper products
• Responsible for preparing set-ups and breakdowns of meeting rooms and areas where programs are being held
• Responsible for seeing that the building and grounds are clean, safe, and free of hazards to the public and staff
• Opening and closing the building when needed – securing the building and alarm system, emptying book drops, etc.
• Minor building maintenance and repair
• Snow removal, shoveling, and putting down ice melt
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications include:
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and use a ladder
• New York State Driver’s License in good standing
• Ability to work from written or verbal instructions.
• Responsible, dependable, and flexibility a must
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Related experience
Starting Salary: $21.35 per hour
