Calling all CCLI Members and Friends! The CCLI Dragon Boat team will be participating in the North Hempstead 2026 Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday July 25, 2026. A minimum of 20 paddlers with several alternates are needed. No experience is necessary. Must be 16+.

All practices will be held at North Hempstead Beach Park (Bar Beach) in Port Washington on the following weekends: June 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, July 4-5, 11-12, 18-19. We will have an hour-long time slot on either Saturdays or Sundays. Exact practice time to be announced in May.

This past weekend, our CCLI Lion Troupe had the honor of performing at the 3rd Annual Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by Nassau County Office of Asian Affairs at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts. The event welcomed more than 3,000 residents from across the community to celebrate together.

Our lion troupe proudly kicked off the performances, marching through the concert hall aisles and captivating the audience with an energetic and vibrant performance on stage. We were also excited to host an exhibition table with special giveaways for attendees.

We are especially proud to share that CCLI Co-President Ricky Wong was honored by Nassau County for his outstanding contributions to the community. Congratulations, Ricky! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. Wishing all a joyful, prosperous, and healthy Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse!

Today marked the inspiring finale of the Young Public Speakers Workshop, presented by the Chinese Center on Long Island! Over the past seven weeks, 21 students have worked hard to build their confidence, communication, and leadership skills, and today they proudly showcased everything they’ve learned in a wonderful public speaking finale.

This impactful program was taught by Fern Rashkover, who has been teaching public speaking at the Center for 12 years. I was delighted to present Fern with a proclamation recognizing her dedication to empowering young people and her outstanding commitment to teaching the art of public speaking.

Congratulations to all our young speakers, your voices, courage, and creativity truly shined today!
