Good Evening Toastmasters!

As a reminder, our next meeting is this Saturday and we have near full line-up :) It is nice to see members stepping up and volunteering; this meeting is sure to be a fun one.

Speaking of fun, our last meeting was full of it with many members creatively using the word of the day; kenspeckle. I didn't think there would be much integration of it, but I counted 4 instances! Bryant gave presented a seamless flow of the meeting as Toastmaster as we transitioned from role to role.

The speeches regarding cyber security, Greek mythology, and the Holocaust provided were each interesting to watch as you could see how the seriousness of each topic reflected in the delivery.

Without further ado, below is the current line-up with the need for a couple of evaluators. Please let me know if you would be up for it!

Toastmaster: Fern
Table Topics: Leah
Ah-Counter: Gregg
Speaker: Patty
Speaker: Maggi
Speaker: Johnson
Speaker: Larry
Evaluator: Gary
Evaluator: Patty

Happy Monday!

We had a great meeting at the last one with Patty giving her speach on Ethics. It definitly made me think of all the ethical decisions I, myself make at work and how easy it its to go astray.

Hope my tabletopics were challenging but fun with the three random word selection. I could almost hear all the cringing once I described the format of the tabletopics =D

I want to also welcome Rob, as he was at the last meeting and also bravely spoke at the meeting at Eisenhower Park. It was a pleasure to meet you and hope you feel welcome at the club. :)

Glad to see all the volunteers that are stepping up to the plate this Saturday! We still have some roles availible if anyone wants to jump in! A very key and important role, the Toastmaster, is needed. If you're thinking about it but unsure, we as a group will guide the volunteer through it; there is no pressure to be perfect....Just let me know and I will add you to the agenda.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Glad to see everyone at the officers training meeting at the firehouse. It was a pleasure hearing veteran speakers take to the podium to present; the pizza was a nice perk too ;)

Hope everyone is doing well and pumped for our next meeting this Saturday 10am at Eisenhower Park at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater. To get a bit of fresh air and change things up, the meeting will be by the theater with hopes to even use the stage :) Below is a link to the map of Eisenhower park and where the theater is located. If you have never been to a meeting and you're seeing this for the first time, come on down and see how a comfortable and friendly enviornment can help develop personal growth.

As I wasnt present at the last meeting, please have any volunteers for any roles sent to me so I can add it to the agenda. To give some inspirations to volunteer, here is a quote I ran into:

Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now, right down here on Earth. - Bradley Whitford

Word of the day: Adulate
Definition: to flatter or admire excessively or slavishly

A portrait of the family patriarch, a man adulated by the public while generally feared by his family, hung above the mantle.
"We adulate the wealthy, the notorious and egocentric and even the crass and depraved and pay little attention to people who are thoughtful, erudite, wise, compassionate and generous." — Dorothy Dimitre, San Mateo (California) Daily Journal
