Rockland DREAM Project

Rockland DREAM Project The D.R.E.A.M (Dare to Reach your Expectations And More) Project's goal is to provide Haverstraw teens with resources to help them achieve their highest dreams

Funded by the New York State Department of Health, the D.R.E.A.M. Project utilizes an Evidence-based Program (EBP) called Project AIM (Adult Identity Mentoring), which is designed to reduce at-risk behaviors among youth ages 11 to 14. Working in collaboration with schools and community-based organizations in Rockland, we deliver Project AIM, in hopes of offering youth alternative positive choices,

and the motivation to make healthy choices towards defining themselves as successful adults. The program teaches youth how to:
-Set goals to achieve their desired future goals and aspirations
-Identify strengths and resources needed for future success
-Build effective communication skills
-Establish healthy relationships
-Resist negative peer-pressure
-Avoid risky behaviors
-Manage money
-Be a leader! Youth who participate in our Evidence-Based Program show:
-Decreased intentions to engage in at-risk behaviors (including sexual activity)
-Increased Abstinence
-Fewer disciplinary problems
-Higher academic grades
-Higher Standard Achievement Test Scores
