A wonderful new website was launched over the weekend that details the current status and future plans for the West Harwich Baptist Church.

In addition, it offers anyone the ability to view an amazing digitized projection of the entire building, from crypt pavers to wind vane on the steeple.

A few moments here is richly repaid. Enjoy!

Explore a 3D model of the historic West Harwich Baptist Church, a Greek Revival landmark in West Harwich, MA being restored.

In the event that you didn’t have a chance to visit the West Harwich Baptist Church during the two “open house” days last week (and there were some 180 people who did!), take a couple minutes out of your day to see it from almost every angle — and some angles that you’ll never be able to attain!

I grabbed the link from the presentation that was made my Mr. John Carey at the Community Preservation Committee’s meeting at Town Hall earlier this evening.

Moving and compelling testimonials were made, but Mr. Carey’s presentation was very tight and thoughtful. He received a sustained ovation from the people present to show their support on this cold night.

Of course, we are thrilled to have someone to step up and make this incredible landmark into something that will be a real asset to the economic revitalization of our village, and an important ornament to our town.

Please, take three minutes. You will be moved…

And now, another cover story 24 hours later — here in the Chronicle!

Again, tonight at 6:00p is the time and Town Halls’s the place for the CPC hearing for the partial funding of the rehab.

Please be there to support an investment in the economic development of the village and the town. Economic studies over the last fifty years show that the average return is factor of FORTY times the input, and the town’s a minority partner in this process. The revenues from this will be measured in generations.

A grand total of 0.665% of the annual budget is being requested.

(If you doubt these stats, consult Prof. Donovan Rypkema’s book linked in the first comment below!)

Wonderful front-page coverage — above the fold! — of the new plans for the West Harwich Baptist Church in yesterday’s edition of the Cape Cod Times!

Reminder: Mr. Carey will appear tonight before CPC tonight at 6:00p and a good turnout from our village would be an important indicator of our support.

Congratulations on another front page story!

Congratulations on another front page story!

Built in 1841, the Greek Revival church has long been a landmark in West Harwich even as attendance dwindled and the building fell into disrepair. See link below ⬇️ bit.ly/44kRRgD
