Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, Medical Aid to Haiti (MATH) has exceeded our $75,000 goal in the 2026 Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity program!

We are deeply grateful to everyone who chose to support MATH through this impactful fundraising opportunity. Your donations will help provide critical medical equipment, supplies, and healthcare services for the patients and families served by Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne.

While MATH held the lead as the top fundraiser for much of the campaign, Special Olympics made a tremendous final push and ultimately secured the one-day on-site table at the Travelers Championship. We congratulate them on their success and thank all of our supporters who helped make this year's campaign such an extraordinary achievement.

Haiti's humanitarian crisis continues to deepen.

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), more than 110,000 Haitian migrants have been forcibly returned so far in 2026, while approximately 1.47 million people remain internally displaced within Haiti.

Speaking at the United Nations Palais des Nations in Geneva, IOM Haiti Chief of Mission Gregoire Goodstein emphasized that Haiti's crisis is no longer unfolding in stages - it has become a constant reality for millions of Haitians.

For organizations like Medical Aid to Haiti (MATH), these statistics are more than numbers. They represent mothers, fathers, children, and families who continue to face extraordinary challenges while seeking safety, stability, and access to healthcare.

Despite these challenges, Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing essential medical, surgical, maternal, pediatric, dental, ophthalmologic, and emergency care to the communities it serves.

Every donation made through the Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity program receives a 15% bonus, thanks to the support of Webster Bank and Aetna — helping your contribution go even further in supporting healthcare services at Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne.

Funds raised this year will help support:
• A second anesthesia machine
• An ophthalmic microscope for cataract surgery
• Hospital beds and medical supplies
• Continued expansion of surgical services

🔵 Medical Aid to Haiti (MATH) is grateful for the continued generosity and partnership of SOMA Tech Intl in helping equip Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne with life-saving medical technology.

Recently, Ash Dhamamm of SOMA Tech Intl demonstrated an advanced laser microscope to Bruce Tooker, MATH volunteer, during a visit to discuss equipment that will be included in a container shipment planned for late summer 2026.

SOMA specializes in refurbishing medical equipment, making high-quality healthcare technology more affordable and accessible for hospitals serving communities in need.

Through SOMA’s generosity, MATH has previously received anesthesia equipment, infant warmers, and surgical equipment that continue to support patient care at HBLM.

These partnerships make it possible to continue expanding healthcare services and improving outcomes for the thousands of patients who rely on HBLM each year.

⛳ Birdies for Charity Kick-Off Social – Supporting MATH’s Mission

Medical Aid to Haiti (MATH) was proud to attend the Birdies for Charity Kick-Off Social at the Travelers Championship as we begin another exciting year of fundraising and impact.

Birdies for Charity continues to be one of the most powerful ways to support MATH because every donation designated to our mission receives a 15% bonus, thanks to the generosity of sponsors Webster Bank and Aetna.

Last year’s support helped expand surgical services at Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne, and this year we are working toward our $75,000 goal to ship critical medical equipment and supplies, including a second anesthesia machine, hospital beds, and an ophthalmic microscope for cataract surgery.

In recognition of World Oral and Dental Care Day (March 20, 2026),
Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne (HBLM) is offering a special dental clinic to serve our community.

Dates: Monday, March 16 – Thursday, April 30, 2026

Hospital Employees (March 16 only):
• Free consultation
• Free teeth cleaning
• Family members (spouse & children) are welcome

Community / Villagers:
• Free dental consultation
• Teeth cleaning available for 1000 gourdes (~$7.50 USD)

This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to improve access to essential healthcare services and promote oral health and prevention within the community.

🔬 A Critical Need for Our Laboratory at Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne

Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of good medical care. At Hôpital Bellevue-La-Montagne (HBLM) in Haiti, laboratory services play a vital role in helping doctors diagnose infections, guide treatments, and save lives.

Our laboratory team is currently in need of a replacement microscope, similar to the one shown above. This essential piece of equipment allows technicians to examine blood, parasites, and other samples that are critical for patient care.

With your support, we can help ensure the laboratory staff at HBLM have the tools they need to continue providing reliable and lifesaving diagnostic services for the community.
