For Jaxon Farkas, a student at Northwest Catholic High School, helping abandoned and abused dogs is more than just a cause, it is a personal mission inspired by his own family's experiences with rescue animals.
Jaxon's passion began in 2017 when his family adopted their dog, Feenix, through Last Chance Arkansas (LCA), a rescue organization dedicated to saving neglected and abandoned dogs. A few years later, in 2020, the family adopted another dog, Jett, from the same rescue. Jett's story left a lasting impression on Jaxon. Before being rescued, Jett and his siblings had been abandoned on the side of a highway in a cardboard box. Learning about the difficult circumstances Jett endured made Jaxon realize that more needed to be done to help vulnerable animals find safe and loving homes.
Motivated by these experiences, Jaxon founded Every Dog Deserves a Home, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting Last Chance Arkansas and its mission. Through the organization, Jaxon raises money by selling wristbands and donates all proceeds directly to LCA to help provide food, shelter, medical care, and other essential resources for rescued dogs in Arkansas.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Jaxon's work has been connecting with people during fundraisers and seeing the positive impact that even small contributions can make. Whether it is a conversation with a supporter or a successful fundraiser, each interaction reinforces his commitment to helping animals in need.
Jaxon believes that everyone can make a difference. People can support Every Dog Deserves a Home by volunteering at fundraisers, helping organize events, or donating to animal shelters and rescue organizations. By giving either their time or financial support, individuals can help ensure that more animals receive the care, protection, and loving homes they deserve.
Through his dedication and compassion, Jaxon Farkas is demonstrating that one person's efforts can make a meaningful difference in the lives of countless rescue dogs, giving them a second chance at the happy lives they deserve.

A beloved tradition fostered by the late teacher Mark Dodd continues to live on at Northwest Catholic High School. This year, instead of ducks, a pair of geese chose our courtyard as the perfect place to lay and hatch their eggs. Once the goslings arrived, the courtyard was no longer an ideal home, so, in true Northwest Catholic fashion, our community stepped in to gently guide the family out to the open space behind the school, where they could safely begin to find a new home.
