Over $4,500 was raised yesterday at the Connecticut Food Association Golf Outing in support of the Hartford Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

A sincere thank-you to our food industry partners, whose generosity made this fundraiser a success. From sponsorships to raffle donations, their support helped advance the fight against Alzheimer's disease while making for a memorable day at the majestic Lake of Isles golf complex.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest fundraiser for Alzheimer's care, support, and research, bringing together communities across the country to support those impacted by this devastating disease.

The Hartford Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place on October 18, 2026.

CFA works closely with policymakers, community organizations and industry partners to ensure that decisions are grounded in how the food system actually operates. At a time of economic pressure and policy uncertainty, that collaboration has never been more important.

At last weekend’s Big Connecticut Food Event 2026 at the Yale School of Management, a standout group of emerging brands took the stage, making a strong case for what’s next in Connecticut’s food economy.

Competing in the emerging brands category:

Aasaaska Foundation — Hartford

crAves By Aves — Manchester

Black Girl Kimchi — Norwalk

Rizzo's Gluten Free Pizza— Hamden

Sidekick Snacks — Winsted

Different categories, different stories, but the same underlying theme: Connecticut entrepreneurs are building brands that reflect changing consumer tastes, local identity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit driving food innovation across the state.

And if you’re wondering where the next breakout product on grocery shelves comes from, it’s probably from a room that looks a lot like this one.
