CFA works closely with policymakers, community organizations and industry partners to ensure that decisions are grounded in how the food system actually operates. At a time of economic pressure and policy uncertainty, that collaboration has never been more important.

At last weekend’s Big Connecticut Food Event 2026 at the Yale School of Management, a standout group of emerging brands took the stage, making a strong case for what’s next in Connecticut’s food economy.

Competing in the emerging brands category:

Aasaaska Foundation — Hartford

crAves By Aves — Manchester

Black Girl Kimchi — Norwalk

Rizzo's Gluten Free Pizza— Hamden

Sidekick Snacks — Winsted

Different categories, different stories, but the same underlying theme: Connecticut entrepreneurs are building brands that reflect changing consumer tastes, local identity, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit driving food innovation across the state.

And if you’re wondering where the next breakout product on grocery shelves comes from, it’s probably from a room that looks a lot like this one.

Great to see CFA member CLYNK continue its growth in Connecticut with the opening of its fifth location at the Stop & Shop Shop in Watertown.

CLYNK makes bulk recycling simple and convenient for customers while ensuring deposits are easy to save and redeem. Their innovative bag drop system and use of technology not only improve the customer experience but also help close the recycling loop and reduce waste.

This is a clear win for Connecticut consumers, turning what used to be a time-consuming chore into a faster, more efficient experience through smart, modern technology.

🌱 Great to be part of CT Ag Day yesterday!

It was wonderful to see so many people come together in support of Connecticut agriculture and the incredible local farms that keep our communities thriving. Events like this are a great reminder of just how strong and connected our food system is.

Grocery stores across Connecticut play a key role in that success—working every day to source local products, support farmers, and bring fresh, locally grown food to their communities.

Proud to be part of an industry that helps keep local agriculture strong. 👏
