Today we commemorate Juneteenth, a national holiday marking the anniversary of the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, TX to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation. In honor of Juneteenth, HOTOpera is happy to share this playlist: Songs for Freedom created by pianist Lara Downes. We hope this music helps to enrich your knowledge of black history and draws positive hope for the future in America. 🙏🏾🙏🏽🙏🏻🙏⁣
