The cross looked like loss, but it was not the end of hope. It was the beginning of salvation.

The tomb looked like defeat, but it was actually the place where redemption was secured.

Remember this Easter, that you donโ€™t have to strive to earn whatโ€™s already been finished. You donโ€™t have to carry what He already took to the cross. We are no longer condemned, but we are covered by His blood. Rest in knowing that Jesus loves you so much that He died for you and your sins. Rejoice in knowing that the tomb is empty, and He is alive!โœ๏ธ

I think I have been on mission with LBB for 9 times, this summer will make 10, and the thing I love about LBB is that we go to a different village each year. We will have most of the same support from the main church in Salama and just like the different regions in the USA, there are different things to learn and see about Guatemala. With that said, the one thing that is always the same, is that the people of Guatemala are happy to see us, they are beautiful, they are kind, they are giving....yes, we are sharing the Good News of Jesus with all of them but God is always reminding me, everyone is seeking the same thing... God and His love, Jesus. From the United States to Guatemala, everyone is seeking to fill a void that God created in us that only He can fill, but all of us try filling that void with other things. In Guatemala, we share what we personally know how the love of Christ changed our lives, and I do love sharing that message.

Would I recommend someone who hasn't been to Guatemala to go and why...
At 16 I was called to do missions, I didn't tell anyone, I choose not to listen to that call that God gave me at 16 and for the next 10 years my life was out of control. Since that time, I have served in my local church in some way shape or form and I loved every moment of it, but I needed more. After my boys grew up and left my house, mid-40's, I thought, "Gee, I would love to go on a mission trip internationally." At that time there wasn't really an option for that in my area, and I started asking God to use me where He wanted me. Tho and behold, here come the Fulton's and Love Beyond Boarders. I began going on missions trips every year since then, granted, on your first trip you may be thinking, "Here I come, I am going to share Jesus and people are going to be saved." But that is not all that mission trips do, during all of the mission trips I have been able to be a part of, God has renewed, restored and rebuilt me, I come back a better version of myself, reflecting Jesus a little more each time. Is your life just the same ole' same ole', do you serve in church and attend regularly but still come away with a sense that there has to be more to this life of Christianity? Being on a mission team with LBB is one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me and He is waiting to give that blessing to you too. I would recommend going to mission with LBB no matter how old you are...step out of your comfort zone and allow God to increase your territory.

I think there is still some work to do in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Plus there is an opportunity I believe to go to a different village. You can just see and feel and know the urgency of having those come to Christ and see those come to Christ.

When I showed up last year, I recognized Stars of David all over the city. Being Jewish, it was very intriguing; And come to find out, Israel and the country of Guatemala have strong ties. So that really sat well and strong with me.

Absolutely! I think anytime you have an opportunity to do mission work outside of your home state or your home city, it would be a great opportunity to learn. Perhaps that could lead into a calling for you to fully enter the mission field. I would certainly recommend anyone who has an opportunity to go, not only to Guatemala, but really anywhere. God calls us to go and spread the good news of the Son, Jesus Christ. Guatemala is definitely an opportunity, definitely take advantage of it.

Guatemala means so much to me because itโ€™s a place where my faith has grown and my heart has been changed. The joy of the people and the way God moves there is something Iโ€™ll never forget, and Iโ€™m so excited to return and experience it again.

Going to Guatemala was my first out of country mission and to say it met my expectations would be an understatement, it was so much more! Being able to be there pushed me to be more comfortable sharing and grow closer to God and the people he sent me with.

Yes! It is a experience that you need to go to at least once in your life. You will feel the spirit move, learn more about yourself, and learn more about God. All while getting to go do Kingdom work in a place youโ€™ve never been before!

After my first mission trip to Guatemala in the summer of 2004 I was hooked on spending a week of my summer in Guatemala to spread the gospel. There are no words that can describe the joy I get from getting to play with the kids in the villages where we spend the week doing VBS with them. To see the excitement on their faces and the smiles that they have makes the trip worth it. Then there is the opportunity to go through the village and share the gospel with the homes in the villages. What a joy it is to see that person/family listen to your testimony and the plan of salvation and then give their life to Christ. There is also sadness when they say no but we know that a seed has been planted and pray that they will eventually give their life to
Christ. I always look forward to going for a week in the summer.

I would encourage anyone to take a week in the summer or be a part of the medical team in the fall and go to Guatemala. You will be blessed in more ways than I can tell you. Your walk with the Lord will grow and be strengthened by the week you spend ministering to the people in Guatemala. Pray about going and go if the Lord leads you.

What is Christmas really about? At its heart, Christmas is about God stepping into our broken world in the most humble way imaginable. Jesus was not born in a palace but in a manger, reminding us that God draws near to the lowly, the overlooked, and the weary. Christmas declares that we are not forgottenโ€”that God saw our need and came to meet us with love, grace, and hope.

The birth of Christ is also the beginning of a mission. Jesus came not just to be admired, but to save, restore, and reconcile people to God. From the very start, His life pointed outwardโ€”toward the lost, the poor, the sick, and the nations. Christmas is Godโ€™s rescue plan set in motion.

Because Jesus came on a rescue mission to seek and to save the lost, we are called to continue that same mission as His followers. If God was willing to send His Son to earth to reach us, then we should be willing to cross streets, cultures, and comfort zones to share His love. Missions is simply living out the message of Christmas: going to where the need is, serving with humility, and proclaiming the good news that Jesus has come, died, and been resurrected for all people. He has given us the free gift of salvation that only needs to be accepted. When we love, give, and go in His name, we continue the story that began in Bethlehem.
