What a week at DCS! (And it's only Wednesday!)

Student conferences, Book Fair, Treat Street preparations, and making sure our amazing teachers are fueled up for those extra-long days. There is a LOT happening in our school community this week!

Behind every event and every little detail are people giving their time, donating supplies and treats, organizing, planning, and putting so much thought and heart into making these experiences special for our students and staff.

To everyone who has donated, volunteered, organized, shopped, baked, helped behind the scenes, or found another way to support DCS this week - THANK YOU! ❤️

It truly takes a community, and we are so grateful for the incredible people who continue to show up for our students, teachers, and school. We hope you enjoy a little peek at some of the things happening around DCS this week!

And we're not done yet… Treat Street is right around the corner! 🕷️🍬

🕷️🍬 FEED GREG He’s hungry for CANDY! 🍬🕷️

Our Treat Street spider has officially moved into DCS, and he has a BIG appetite! 👀🐾

We’re collecting candy for our upcoming Treat Street event, and our biggest need right now is candy donations to help make it a spooktacular success for our students!

📍 Where to find him: Outside the gym at DCS!

🍬 Kids can feed him on their way into school, or families can drop off candy whenever it’s convenient.

Let’s see if we can fill this hungry guy up! Every bag helps us make Treat Street a fun Halloween tradition for our DCS community.

🐯❤️ Conference Week is coming, and we’re looking for a few more items to help fuel our DCS teachers and staff! ❤️🐯

Parent-teacher conferences mean longer days for our teachers and staff as they squeeze in extra time to connect with families and support our students. We want to make sure they have some easy snacks and meals to keep them going throughout the week!

We still have a few spots to fill, and we’d love your help making sure our staff is taken care of during these busy days. Every contribution helps!

Check out the SignUpGenius link in the comments to see what’s still needed and how you can pitch in. Thank you for helping us take care of the people who take care of our kids! ❤️🖤🐯

6th Grade Adventure at Bryant Pond!🏕️

Last week, our 6th graders headed to Bryant Pond for an incredible outdoor learning adventure! From learning how to start a fire and make tea to foraging for food, canoeing, tackling the ropes course, and so much more, students had the chance to learn new skills, challenge themselves, and experience a little more independence.

Beyond the activities themselves, this trip was a wonderful opportunity for our 6th graders to build teamwork, problem-solving skills, confidence, and stronger connections with their classmates. We love seeing our students take on new challenges and discover what they’re capable of!

The DCS PTA is proud to help support this special program and the experiences it provides for our students. 💜

Way to go, 6th grade! We hope you had an adventure you’ll remember for years to come! 🌲🛶🔥

We’re so grateful for the support we’ve already received for chaperones and donations for this Friday evening’s Middle School Social!

Looking ahead, we’d love to build on that support and have families sign up for the open chaperone and donation spots throughout the year.

Our hope is to have a community of people who can help make these events happen for our middle schoolers - without the last-minute scramble. Every bit of time or generosity makes a difference to our kids and this community.

If you’re able to help, check out the open spots on our sign up genius (linked in comments). Thank you for helping us give our kids these fun opportunities to connect and make memories! 💜

🍦 What a sweet way to kick off the school year! 🍦

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our DCS PTA Ice Cream Social last week! We had such a great time welcoming new families, catching up with familiar faces, and enjoying a little ice cream together.

There were plenty of sprinkles, smiles, and happy kids - and we loved seeing our DCS community come together!

A big thank you to all of the families who came out and to the volunteers who helped make the evening such a success. We’re looking forward to a wonderful year together!

Here’s to a sweet school year ahead! 🍦
