Please pray for Gary tonight. Lift him up in your prayers for a successful double lung transplant in the morning and that healing and strength follow. 🙏❤️

UPDATE on Gary Porter:

Lungs have been found and Gary is set for his double lung transplant tomorrow morning at 6:00am. All prayers appreciated that the lungs stay viable all night and that these lungs are for him. Also…let’s not forget that a family is hurting greatly tonight. Thank the Lord for this donor family making the decision to donate these life-saving lungs.

This Memorial Day Weekend, we at Fauna Transplant Support pause to honor the true heroes behind so many second chances… our organ donors and donor families. Their selfless gift saves lives, restores hope, and creates miracles that ripple far beyond what words can describe.

Today, I honor Fauna.

Fauna saved my life. Because of her gift, I was given more time, more purpose, and a deeper understanding of love, compassion, and sacrifice than I ever knew before. From everything I have learned from her family and friends, she was a deeply kind and compassionate person - and I carry that with me every single day.

I am beyond grateful that I was able to connect with her amazing mother and sister. Their strength, grace, and encouragement have changed my life forever. ❤️ It is one thing to receive the gift of life. It is another to witness the love behind that gift.

Since my transplant, I have discovered a passion and compassion inside of me that I can hardly explain. I know my mission in life now is to help whoever I can in the transplant community and advocate for others. I want people to feel seen, supported, encouraged, and loved through every part of this journey.

That is why Fauna Transplant Support exists.
Her legacy lives on through every prayer shared, every conversation held, every life encouraged, and every person reminded they are not alone. This community has changed my life, and I pray it continues to bring hope and healing to so many others.

This Memorial Day Weekend, we remember the donors whose final act on earth became someone else’s new beginning. We honor the families who said “yes” in the middle of unimaginable grief. And we promise to live lives worthy of the gift we were given.
Fauna’s light lives on! I will spend the rest of my life honoring it. ❤️
