We’re excited to share that we’ll be a vendor at the Iowa Juneteenth ObservanceNeighbors Day Celebration on Saturday, June 20, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Western Gateway Park in Des Moines!

This free, family-friendly celebration honors freedom, culture, and community connection through live entertainment, local food, small business vendors, youth activities, and health and wellness resources.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful event and to connect with neighbors, families, and fellow local businesses. If you’re in the Des Moines area, stop by our booth, say hello, and celebrate Juneteenth with us.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free.

This day came to be known as Juneteenth, a time to celebrate, gather as a family, reflect on the past and look to the future.

We join our friends in celebration of freedom with the critical, ongoing fight for health equity, as Black communities disproportionately face higher cancer mortality rates and later-stage diagnoses.

WHAT. A. DAY!🙌

Yesterday, we welcomed 200 cancer survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and community members to our sold-out, inaugural Beyond the Summit Conference at ITA Group Inc. and it was an incredible day!

Together, we explored whole-person approaches to healing through four powerful sessions:
- The Arts as Medicine with Dr. Richard Deming, MD, Ana Hays McCracken and Missy Drescher
- Food as Fuel with Dr. Andy Nish, Barb Wisnieski and Jordan Clasen
- Strength in Motion, Clarity in Mind with Mary Van Heukelom
- Living with Uncertainty and Change with Julie Larson, LCSW

A heartfelt thank you to our outstanding presenters who shared their expertise, personal experiences, and practical tools to support individuals navigating life during and after cancer.

Thank you to our wellness instructors - Todd Rhoades, Ben Spellman, Jana West and Mary Van Heukelom for sharing how music and movement can be an important part of each day.
