Save32acres litigation, to keep the 32 acres green, is still pending. The trees will grow back and hopefully the township will buy the property back, with support from various Green Acres funding, so OCEAN TOWNSHIP can do its part to fight global warming.

You are invited to join your Ocean Township neighbors at our Township’s Municipal Building aka Town Hall on the corner of Deal Rd & Monmouth, December 12th @ 7pm

Our Mayor is looking for a location to build a new Town Hall, which will cost OT residents a great deal more in our annual property tax’s.

A preferred location of the Mayor’s happens to be the serene setting of the LIBRARY Meadow or the only open space left in town which happens to be across the road from Ocean Commons at the South East corner of Deal Rd & Hwy 35. This is Township owned undeveloped woodland, directly across from the commercial development known as “Ocean Commons”. The Township owns this land, so they feel they can do what they want with it.

There are many, many residents, over 5,000 who would prefer they simply renovate our current Municipal Building in its present location. If you would like your voice heard, please join us at the next town council meeting at Town Hall on Deal Rd & Monmouth December 12 . Please alert your neighbors.

The Mayor must see an impressive amount of VOTES lost, if he doesn’t respect the will of the people. We are currently paying, within our residential taxes, an open space tax, which was sold to us as a fund to purchase undeveloped land. We were alerted by our Council at the last council meeting, that there isn’t any undeveloped land left to buy. That was shocking!!!

We are told that they are using our open space tax fund on the upkeep & maintenance of our existing parks and recreation facilities. I understand that is important, but what budget covered park maintenance, excavation equipment, holiday lights etc…before the tax paying residents agreed to an additional tax, to purchase & preserve undeveloped land?

So, if there isn’t any available land left to buy, why do they continue to tax us on the idea of protecting land?

Why are they seriously considering building on what very limited “natural” open space that Ocean Township has left?

A major renovation of the current Municipal Building, is the only way to go for many
reasons ! If you agree, please show up December 12@ 7pm at Town Hall , aka Ocean Townships Municipal building at Deal Rd & Monmouth.
