The sacraments, including marriage, are open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We support all families in their journeys (Unanimously adopted November 7, 2004). If you are a Visitor
Each of us knows what it was like to try something for the first time. We, too, wondered what this church was all about. Introduce yourself and share with us your spiritual journeys, and we will share our own. We have no creedal test you must pass. You will be welcome to come again.

Scripture for Nov. 12 is from Black Elk, Oglala elder. "You have noticed that everything that an Indian does is in a circle, and that is because the Power of the World always works in circles, and everything tries to be round....The Sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars. The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours....Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were. The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves."

Dear West Cummington,

See you Sunday,

News - and it ain't all Covid
1) That's right: together in the church this Sunday at 9:30.
Here are the current plans. The air purifier will run for 48 hours to prepare the room. Every other row is blocked off to assure adequate distance. If you are in a pod you may sit in the same pew with family and friends. You may wear a mask at any time if you wish. They are not required at this point.
To avoid crowding we are temporarily forsaking the closing circle where we held hands, were close together and sang. Instead, we will remain in our pews for the closing blessing and song. Lingering and chatting indoors is not the best idea. So, I intend to walk right outside after the blessing and and I invite you to move your conversations outside, too.
2) We will begin to film the solo singing and the sermons soon and post them on YouTube so that people far and wide can experience West Cummington. Please share the link, when we establish it, with distant friends and family.
3) The spaghetti dinner scheduled for this Saturday, the 28th, is being postponed until Saturday, November 18th when we will feast on Janet Pixley's spaghetti and various sauces (veggie, meat, etc) and potluck ( counting on you! )desserts followed by stories and memories about Thanksgiving.
Now, all this will happen if we can find enough people to set up before the supper and clean up after. Janet organizes and cooks up a storm, but it turns out she's only human so let's pitch in and make this wonderful event come true. If you can help out at the Parish House with the setting up and cleaning, please let Janet know.
