Teamsters Local 495 recently visited the Waste Management Baldwin Park site to meet with our members, hear their concerns, and discuss the issues that matter most on the job.

Site visits are an important part of staying connected with our membership and ensuring that every worker’s voice is heard. We appreciate the dedication and hard work of the men and women who keep our communities clean and running every day.

After 29 years of dedicated service, Martin Ruiz is hanging up his Teamster jacket and beginning a well-earned retirement.

As a proud member of Teamsters Local 495 at ABF Fontana, Martin’s commitment, hard work, and solidarity have left a lasting impact on his coworkers, his union, and the members he stood alongside throughout his career.

We thank Martin for nearly three decades of dedication and wish him nothing but happiness, good health, and countless memories as he enjoys this new chapter with his wife.

A proud moment for Teamsters Local 495 and California’s racetrack workforce.

Damascus Castellanos recently appeared before the California Senate Rules Committee as part of the confirmation process for his appointment to the California Horse Racing Board. Following committee approval, his appointment now advances to the California State Senate floor for a vote.

As a longtime advocate for working people, Damascus brings a strong labor voice to the table and a deep commitment to protecting the interests of Teamsters Local 495 racetrack members. His leadership and dedication help ensure that the hardworking men and women of California’s horse racing industry have representation and a voice in decisions that impact their livelihoods.

Robert Thomas, 495 Steward and Mechanic/Fabricator at the LA County Fairgrounds, represents the skill, craftsmanship, and union pride of Teamsters Local 495. ✊💙💛

Most structures produced during the LA County Fair are made by our members. From detailed fabrication work to large-scale displays, our members help bring the fairgrounds to life every year. For example, the boat in the background was built by 495 members.
