Through the support of the Lilly Grants awarded earlier this year, International Theological Seminary is advancing new initiatives in theological education, collaborative research, and lifelong ministry formation. We are excited to share updates from our Korean and Chinese programs!
The CAAS (Consortium for Asian-American Seminaries) Korean Lilly Project is developing its Multilingual Program through a two-year learning model that journeys from learning to practice, combining recorded lectures, learning communities, and hands-on ministry. The first course, "Ministry & Missional Formation I: Pentecostal Ministry and Mission from a Reformed Perspective," launched this fall, with a new course on Christian leadership and ministry in the age of AI in development.
Through the CTLC (Chinese Theological Leadership Consortium), ITS is supporting cross-seminary collaboration, faculty research, and academic publishing. This includes a conference on AI and research which was held in Rosemead, CA in August, and a research grant system offering fifteen scholarships of up to $3000 being established by Dr. Allen Yeh (ITS) and Dr. Chiying Wang (Logos Evangelical Seminary).
Investing the Lilly Grant further into our community, ITS is establishing an Asian Theology & Leadership Center, headed by Rev. Paul Yang, our Chinese Dean, this October.
Together, these efforts reflect ITS’s commitment to building sustainable learning communities that equip pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders to deepen their knowledge, strengthen their leadership, and serve faithfully in a rapidly changing world.
