We are excited to have Dan Rodgers from the South Carolina Film Commission join our us as a panelist! Come out Saturday, August 23rd at 3pm to meet Dan and hear what the Film Commission is doing.
Bio: Dan Rogers is the Senior Project Manager with the South Carolina Film Commission. Growing up as an Air Force brat, he lived in seven different states, one unincorporated U.S. territory, and two countries before he turned 15. His family ended up in South Carolina when his father was named Base Commander at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter. After graduating from St. Jude High School in Sumter, Dan attended USC and obtained a degree in Media Arts with a concentration in film. He parlayed an internship with the Film Commission into a full time job in 1988 and has been there ever since, helping to recruit more than 200 projects, including “The Prince of Tides,” “The Abyss,” “The Patriot,” “Dear John,” “Forrest Gump,” “The Notebook,” and the TV series “Army Wives” and “Outer Banks.” Dan and his wife Karen have four children and live in Irmo.

We are honored to have the amazing Arischa Conner Frierson on our panel this year! If you are an actor that wants to get on bigger projects or if you are just getting started Arischa is the person to talk to!
Bio:
Arischa Conner is an actress and award-winning audiobook narrator best known for Hulu’s Emmy-winning series Dopesick. She has also appeared in Swagger, The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey alongside Samuel L. Jackson, and The Resident on FOX, now streaming on Netflix. Her film work includes The Christmas Ringer on BET Plus and upcoming releases such as the Christy Martin biopic with Sydney Sweeney and Undercard starring Wanda Sykes. In addition to her screen work, she has narrated over 100 audiobooks and created the viral social media series The Wife and The Mistress, which has reached millions of viewers across platforms. She is passionate about authentic storytelling and inspiring others to pursue their dreams.

We are so excited to have Dr on our Panel for Bio
Dr. Dalvin Spann is a dynamic professional with a diverse background in the creative arts. A native of Columbia, South Carolina and a graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design, along with an doctorate from the School of the Great Commission Theological Seminary in Humanities. Dalvin has flourished as a Graphic Designer, Visual Artist, Photographer, and Music and Video Producer. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for storytelling, Dalvin has successfully navigated various mediums to bring ideas to life.

Currently serving as a returning board member for the Columbia Design League as vice-president, Dalvin is also the Creative Director for RESH Marketing, a prominent marketing company that creates and executes research-based marketing strategies while using cutting edge technology.

Outside of the corporate realm, Dalvin is a co-founder of the arts collective Izms of Art, fostering community-driven projects and empowering emerging talents. He is also co-founder of a thought-provoking podcast called “Don’t Mind Failure” where they delve into insightful conversations, exploring the intersection of art, culture, and society.

In addition to his professional ventures, Dalvin is an artist whose works have graced galleries along the East Coast, captivating audiences with their distinctive style and more recently in 2020 at Columbia Museum of Art with his exhibition untitled “Anima: The Essence of Blacknuss”, 2022 at the FMU Gately Gallery exhibition titled “Moyo Roho” and in 2025 at the Soulhaus exhibition titled “After”. Among his recent accomplishments, he has worked on design projects for the Black Orchestra Network, Black Music Seen, Adidas, BMW, Michelin and South Carolina Commission for the Blind. With a commitment to pushing creative boundaries and fostering collaborative endeavors, Dalvin continues to make an indelible mark on the cultural landscape, inspiring others to explore their creative potential.
