We had a great time worshipping with the fine folks at Maranatha Baptist Church on Sunday morning, and we're still smiling after all the fun we had at The Swampy Dog Summer Bash on Sunday afternoon!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and hung out with us. Seeing familiar faces, meeting new friends, and getting to play music for two awesome crowds made for a pretty great day.

But we're not done yet....

On Saturday, June 20th, make plans to join us at Trailblazer Park for a special evening as part of the Music in the Park concert series featuring YAM alumni band Creekwater Collective!

Before Creekwater Collective takes the stage, our Sweet Potato Pie Kids will kick off the evening with a performance at 7:00 PM. Come out early to support these talented young musicians and enjoy a great night of live music.

Is my child ready for music lessons 💭🎶

Parents often ask, "Is my child ready for music lessons?" The truth is, it's rarely about talent— it's about curiosity, interest, and a willingness to begin.

Learning a bluegrass instrument teaches so much more than notes and rhythms. Along the way, children develop patience when a chord doesn't come easily, responsibility through regular practice, and confidence as they see their hard work pay off. They learn how to listen, collaborate, and find their place within a group of musicians.

One of the most special things about Appalachian music is that it's meant to be shared. Whether trading melodies, keeping rhythm, or joining a jam circle, young musicians discover that music is something we create together.

Music lessons aren't about creating professional musicians— they're about helping children discover what they're capable of. Through every practice session, performance, and breakthrough moment, they build skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

And by placing an instrument in the hands of a child, we're helping ensure that the rich traditions of Appalachian music continue for generations to come 🎻✨
