Cayce-West Columbia Rotary Club - Celebrating 68 years of Service Above Self!

Cayce west Columbia Rotary has an outstanding history of providing district leadership and contributions to The Rotary Foundation. Members of our organization form a network of business, professional and community leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve our community and the world through club service projects each year.

One of the greatest joys of being part of the Cayce West-Columbia Rotary Club is having the opportunity to shine a spotlight on some truly remarkable teachers and students in Lexington School District Two.

Ms. Evangeline Reddick of Airport High School was recognized as our Rotary Club Teacher of the Quarter. Ms. Reddick is also Lexington Two’s District Teacher of the Year!

We also proudly celebrated these exceptional students:

Kailen Gillis – Airport High School

Ashilee Harrison – Brookland-Cayce High School

Raymond Russell – Lexington Two Innovation Center

Caden Wheeler – Wil Lou Gray

Corey Sherrell Gleaton – Gray Academy

Congratulations to all our honorees.

Your accomplishments exemplify the current rotary theme: “Create Lasting Impact”.

Keep learning, keep leading, and most importantly, keep shining!

The Cayce West-Columbia Rotary Club officially kicked off the 2026–2027 Rotary year as our new leadership team was installed by Past District Governor Mary Gunter Gasque

A huge congratulations to our new Club President, Dr. Elizabeth Gressette! If today was any indication, we are in for an exciting year. Elizabeth has already challenged us to think bigger, serve deeper, and have a whole lot of fun while doing it. (She personally called every club member prior to today’s meeting to inspire and to engage us for this new year!)

Outgoing Club President Retired Colonel Chuck Hightower was gifted with a clock as a thank you for the precious gift of “TIME” that he gave the club!

This year’s Rotary theme, chosen by Rotary International President Olayinka H. Babalola, is “Creating Lasting Impact.”

This year we’ll be creating impact in so many ways: providing shoes and warm wear for students who need them, helping keep our community clean through adopt-a-highway, awarding scholarships to deserving students, and throwing axes, one of most successful fundraisers to give back to our community.

If you’ve ever wondered what Rotary is about, come visit us. You’ll find people from all walks of life who believe that together we can accomplish far more than we ever could alone.

The members of the Cayce West Columbia Rotary Club extend our deepest sympathies, love, and heartfelt respect to the family and friends of Gilbert Wallace “Butch.”

Butch was a loyal, dedicated, and valued member of our Rotary family.

His commitment to service, friendship, and community made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He exemplified the Rotary spirit through his generosity, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

We are grateful for his many contributions and will cherish the memories he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of service and fellowship will continue to inspire us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. May they find comfort in the love and respect that so many held for Butch.

From Club President Joseph Hightower

“Butch’s seat at our table may now be empty, but his spirit of service and friendship will forever remain a part of our Rotary family.”

Please join the Cayce West-Columbia Rotary Club in welcoming our newest member, Ms. Schiria Wilson!

Ms. Wilson serves as Director of the Lexington Two Innovation Center (L2IC) where she leads the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

As Director, her top priority is ensuring that high school students are learning beyond the classroom and gaining valuable hands-on training, internship opportunities, apprenticeships, industry certifications, and professional licensure that prepare them for successful careers.

We are excited to welcome such a dynamic leader to our club and look forward to the impact she will make both within Rotary and throughout our
