Big News!!!!!

CAE ATCT/TRACON has officially been upgraded from a ATC-6 to a ATC-7 air traffic facility as of today retroactive to September 2025. This is a culmination of all the hard work the controllers have all put in over the last few years to get us to this point. Next step maybe an 8! 😂 💀

Our members at CAE are stepping up in a BIG way one day one and working hard to lead the NSO in handwritten letters to Congress. Let’s show the rest of the union that the Southern Region is ready to compete and make our voices heard.

Handwritten letters are personal, powerful, and impactful. When congressional offices receive them, they know it’s more than just a click—it’s our real voices, our real stories, and our real struggles.

👉 Share how the shutdown has affected you, your family, and your ability to serve the flying public.
👉 Tell your story with honesty and pride—it makes a difference.
👉 Remember: handwritten, from the heart, and to your Senators and Representative.

Controllers keep the system safe 24/7, shutdown or not. Now it’s time to ensure our elected officials hear directly from us.

Let’s make it clear that the Southern Region won’t be outdone.
Let’s flood Congress with our voices and make this shutdown impossible to ignore.

Rise up, Southern Region. Let’s lead this call to action!

A big big thank you to the operations team at Columbia Metropolitan Airport for grilling out in the rain today for the controllers and techops. We truly appreciate your partnership during this extremely stressful time for all of us.

We need the public’s support right now!

We need the public’s support right now!

Today, NATCA recognizes the International Day of the Controller, the observance recognizing the vital work that is done by air traffic controllers around the world to keep the global airspace operating safely and efficiently.

In the U.S., American controllers are presently operating under enormous stress and distraction as they continue to be responsible for moving 35,000 flights with millions of passengers and many tons of cargo every day without pay. These hardworking Americans are a vital engine for the U.S. economy and our modern way of life and deserve to be paid for the work they are performing.

NATCA honors our members and thanks them for their unwavering commitment to aviation safety. This current situation is unacceptable. The government shutdown must end immediately.
