Dear Families & Students,

I want to say it has been a few months of crazy moving, setting up and health issues and the last two weeks of technical issues with the studio's internet and jackrabbit platform going down for over two weeks. I think both systems are finally working properly.

I have received a few phone correspondents, so this is why I have not been able to reach back and update accounts during this time. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Karate Belt Testing application is below.
If you need to order a new Gi or logo wear (t-shirts, sweats etc send turn in your order form asap) form on website. And I emailed it directly to you.

Please fill out and return asap for your slot to test on Nov. 22nd. Congratulations on all our students that have worked so hard ready to test. **************************************
🙏🏼Update for Susanne's health and surgeries.
This Friday Oct.9th at 12:00 I will have surgery in my jaw to clear out the infection that did not clear up from my last procedure. This is going to be a bit more extensive procure to cut out the infection and replace with a stem cell graft. I will be put to sleep and will need to go on bed rest for 5 days to prevent another rupture. Please pray as this will need to heal before I can proceed with a bone graft then thirdly a gum graft where I lost all the prior repair during the blood clot rupture. Also, pray for financial provision as neither insurance (dental nor medical will pay for any of it).

So, I will need to shift my Monday Class to join my Wednesday classes and AI Tuesday classes shift to Thursday with AI Combo on Thursday 3:30 and karate at 4:30. Northside morning classes will shift from Tuesday to Thursday as well. Thank you for your understanding in helping me navigate this process.

****If there is a parent that could help/volunteer assist my classes during your student's classes, I would greatly appreciate some help during the next two weeks. I can be up but still limited from the surgery for next two weeks.

A True Leader Doesn't Create Followers, She Creates More Leaders

Leadership is one of the highest ideals in karate. A true karate leader is not measured by the number of students who obey commands, but by the number of individuals who grow into confident, disciplined, and honorable leaders themselves. The quote in this image captures that philosophy perfectly: "A true leader doesn't create followers, she creates more leaders."

In traditional karate, leadership begins with example. A respected instructor arrives early, trains with dedication, treats everyone with respect, and never asks students to do something they are unwilling to do themselves. Actions speak louder than titles or ranks. Even a high-ranking black belt must continue learning with humility, proving that mastery is a lifelong journey rather than a final destination.

The four principles displayed in the image define outstanding leadership.

Lead by Example reminds us that integrity is the foundation of influence. Students naturally follow those whose actions consistently match their words.

Inspire with Purpose means helping others discover why they train. Karate is not merely about fighting or winning tournaments. It develops confidence, resilience, patience, and self-control that extend into everyday life.

Empower Others is perhaps the greatest responsibility of a leader. Instead of creating dependence, a great instructor encourages students to think independently, solve problems, and eventually teach others. Every lesson becomes an opportunity to build confidence and responsibility.

Build Legacy means leaving behind values rather than trophies. Medals may fade, but the discipline, respect, and character passed from one generation to the next become a lasting legacy. This is how traditional karate has survived for centuries.

The closing words, "Discipline. Respect. Strength. Character. That is Karate.", summarize the essence of martial arts. Physical strength alone does not define a karateka. True strength is shown through self-control, courage under pressure, compassion toward others, and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement.

The woman standing confidently before her students symbolizes calm authority rather than domination. Her posture reflects confidence, while the students behind her represent the future she is helping shape. She is not seeking followers who simply imitate her; she is preparing individuals who will one day guide others with the same wisdom and integrity.

Ultimately, the greatest achievement of any karate leader is not earning another belt or another title. It is inspiring others to become disciplined, ethical, and courageous leaders in their own communities. That is the enduring spirit of karate and the true meaning of leadership.
