There’s a big difference between involvement and commitment.**

Churches are full of people who are involved. Far fewer are truly committed.

Maybe that’s why we spin our wheels so much. We have plenty of people attending programs, serving occasionally, and staying busy—but far fewer willing to make the long-term commitments that actually change lives.

Real leaders go beyond involvement. They commit.**

So ask yourself: Am I involved, or am I committed?

Am I playing the church game—staying just involved enough to feel good about myself—while avoiding people whose lives are too messy? Or am I all in?

Leadership is messy because people are messy.

If you have someone else’s mess all over you, you’re overwhelmed, and you’re wondering what you got yourself into…

You might just be leading. Nice work.

A great mission trip doesn’t simply fill a week on the calendar.

It helps students return home with a deeper faith, greater confidence, and a clearer understanding of how God can use them every day.

That’s why challenge is such an important part of every LeaderTreks Mission Trip.

Not because we want students to have a hard week.

But because we want them to experience the kind of growth that only comes when they step beyond what’s familiar and learn to depend on Jesus.

Because a mission trip isn’t just about where students go.

Teamwork
So, why don't more ministries embrace teamwork? I believe this is because teamwork requires hard work. Although it may seem easy, in reality, it demands commitment and dedication.

To foster good teamwork, three essential elements are required:

Clearly Defined Roles: Everyone needs a defined role and a clear understanding of their responsibilities. When team members act independently, teams can quickly become chaotic. It's crucial for leaders to provide job descriptions, ensure adherence to these roles, and evaluate individual performance.

Clear Mission: Teams should rally around a single mission and work collectively to support it. A leader's primary responsibility is to keep the team aligned with the mission. When a leader does this effectively and team members are committed to the mission, teamwork becomes enjoyable.

Equal Sacrifice: Successful teamwork is characterized by equal sacrifice among team members. When individuals on the team are disproportionately burdened with sacrifices, it can lead to jealousy and resentment. If leaders bear the brunt of the sacrifices, they may become resentful towards the team. Equal sacrifice fosters a willingness to make sacrifices and brings great joy to the team.
