When a community is hit hard, showing up matters. ❤️🐾

This past Sunday, August 30, Rescue Pack joined forces with Silverstray Social and Huckleberry's Snack Shack for the NWI Storm Relief Pet Food Pantry, helping families impacted by recent storms access pet food, essential supplies, and disaster relief items when they needed them most.

Together, we distributed:
🐶 6 pallets of Stella & Chewy's dog food
🐾 3 pallets of Purina cat food donated through Greater Good Charities
📦 5 pallets of pet supplies from Amazon.com
❤️ 1 pallet of Greater Good Charities “Good Packs,” filled with socks, blankets, water bottles, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shaving kits, and other disaster relief essentials

By the end of the event, 408 families had come through the pantry, and more than 30 incredible volunteers were onsite helping make it all possible.

A huge thank you to Silverstray Social, Huckleberry’s Snack Shack, our generous donors, every volunteer who gave their time, and everyone who helped us get these resources into the hands - and paws - of our NWI neighbors.

This is what community looks like: showing up, pitching in, and making sure no family has to choose between caring for themselves and caring for the pets they love. ❤️

One donation. So many ways to help. ❤

Thanks to the generosity of Greater Good Charities, Rescue Pack was able to distribute a donation of Purina Pro Plan wet puppy food during our recent distribution event, making a difference for the dogs at Almost Home Foundation.

🐶 For 10-month-old Oscar, it’s a nutritious meal while he grows in his foster home.

🐕 For Layla, a recent mama whose puppies have all been adopted, it’s a topper that provides some much-needed extra calories.

🐾 And for seven dogs who recently arrived on transport from Alabama, wet food helped volunteers administer important medications during their intake process.

Different dogs. Different needs. One donation helping Almost Home Foundation care for them every step of the way.

A heartfelt thank you to Greater Good for helping us keep bowls full and support the organizations working tirelessly to give every dog the best possible care. 🐶❤️🐾

It was our privilege to partner with Huckleberry's Snack Shack and Silverstray Social to help people and pets impacted by the storms.

We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped us make sure families didn’t have to worry about feeding their cats and dogs during an already difficult time. 🐈‍⬛ 🐕

NWI STORM RELIEF — FREE PET FOOD PANTRY! 🩶

Silverstray is teaming up with Rescue Pack & Huckleberry's Snack Shack to help pet families impacted by the recent storms throughout .

While our primary access-to-care programs serve Gary pet families, we are removing jurisdictional restrictions for this special storm-relief event. If you’ve been affected and some pet food would help take one thing off your plate, come see us!

🐾 No registration necessary
🐾 Open to ALL communities
🐾 Drive-through, please remain in your vehicle
🐾 First come, first served while supplies last

We’ll also be providing take-home information on low-cost vaccines, spay/neuter, veterinary care, and personal/community resources available throughout the area.

The storms didn’t stop at city limits, and neither will this relief effort. Come to Gary. Let us help take care of your pet family for a minute.
