The Center for Animal Health & Welfare is excited to partner with Faulkner Subaru Easton to offer a FREE vaccine and microchip clinic.

Schedule:
12pm - Cats
1pm - Dogs
2pm - Both (from same household)

Vaccines:
-Rabies
-Distemper
-Bordetella

Please note:
- All cats must be in a carrier.
- All dogs must be on a leash.
- If your dog is not pet friendly, please keep them in your car and come in to see us first.

​To guarantee your spot, please book a Vaccine Clinic appointment for each pet you will be bringing. We have separate designated times available for cats, dogs and households who will be bringing both cats and dogs.

🐾🏡 Are you a pet owner in need of assistance, maybe going through hard times and having trouble providing food for your furry family members? Come visit LCR Saturday, October 31st from 10am - 11am (or as supplies last).
We will have limited pet food available for free to help struggling pet owners in our community including dogs, cats, and small critter food available.
We do ask that pet owners complete an informational survey to help us to grow our services for our community and help keep pets in their homes for future events!

Great advice! The best options to be reunited with a lost dog are a collar with ID tags, a registered microchip, and a legitimate tracking tag.

One thing I wish more dog owners understood before their dog ever goes missing: An AirTag is NOT a GPS dog tracker.

Is an AirTag better than nothing? Absolutely. In a busy neighborhood or city, where there are lots of iPhones around, it may help give you a location.

But AirTags don’t have their own GPS/cellular connection. They depend on nearby Apple devices to detect them and pass along their location. That’s great for luggage in an airport.

A scared dog running through the woods at 2a? Very different situation.

I’ve seen lost dogs end up in woods, fields, along railroad tracks, and in industrial areas where an AirTag may go a long time without another update.

That’s why I recommend looking at a real GPS/cellular tracker. Fi and Tractive are two of the better known, highly reviewed options.

We personally use Fi. Our Husky, Phoenix, and Pomsky, Zorro, wear their Fi collars all the time. Not just hiking. Not just traveling. All the time.

No tracker is magic. They need charging, cellular coverage, and usually a subscription.

But I’d much rather have something designed to track a moving dog than hope somebody carrying an iPhone happens to get close enough, or have to call in a thermal drone pilot after the fact (Oh, hi!).

And still microchip your dog and keep an ID tag on the collar. GPS helps you find the dog. The tag and microchip help someone who finds the dog find you.

This is Phoenix at Twin Lakes, Colorado, sporting his Fi collar and looking like he owns the place. Which, being a Husky, I’m sure he believes he does. 😂
