We’re excited to welcome Lex Horwitz (he/they) as the new facilitator for our Kennett Area Adult Peer Support Group 🌈

Lex is an LGBTQIA+ educator, consultant, speaker, former DIII athlete, and advocate whose work focuses on authenticity, community connection, and creating spaces where people feel safe being fully themselves.

As we continue expanding Alliance programming into southern Chester County, we’re really excited to have Lex helping build this new peer support space in Kennett Square.

This group is designed for LGBTQIA+ adults (18+) looking for connection, conversation, support, and community in a welcoming low-pressure environment.

Sesame Street wished everyone a happy Pride Month.

That’s it.

No politics.

No culture war manifesto.

No controversial announcement.

Just a simple message celebrating LGBTQ+ people and families as part of the community.

And somehow that was enough to trigger another round of outrage online.

The beloved children’s show shared a Pride Month post encouraging kindness, inclusion, and support for LGBTQIA+ people, continuing a tradition it has embraced for years.

Within hours, critics were accusing the program of “grooming” children and pushing an agenda.

Others quickly pointed out something many LGBTQ+ people know all too well: simply acknowledging our existence is still treated as controversial by some people.

What makes the reaction especially striking is how familiar it feels.

Every June, a rainbow appears somewhere and a certain corner of the internet acts like society is collapsing.

Meanwhile, Sesame Street keeps doing what it has always done best.

Teaching kids that everyone deserves kindness, respect, and a place at the table.

And that’s a lesson that seems just as relevant for adults.

🌺 Our final Gathering for Good of the season is almost here! 🌺

As Pride Month continues, one of the most meaningful ways to celebrate is by supporting the organizations that keep LGBTQ+ community, connection, and advocacy alive all year long.

Join us on June 26 for Garden Variety Romance (+ Wine) at the breathtaking Chanticleer Gardens. Guests will enjoy a private guided tour led by expert staff, followed by wine and cheese among the blooms in one of the country's most celebrated public gardens.

This is the final Gathering for Good of the season, and every ticket purchased directly supports the LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County's programs, advocacy, support groups, community events, and year-round work serving LGBTQ+ individuals and families.

Pride is more than a month. It's the community we build, support, and show up for every day.

This event aims to raise awareness of the diversity, joys, and challenges of all LGBTQ families—found, formed, and chosen—and to show their strength, elevate their collective stories, and reaffirm allies’ support.

IMPORTANT DATE CHANGE: Chester County Pride Flag Raising has moved up!

Join us Monday, June 8 at 12:00pm at the Chester County Justice Center for the Chester County Pride Flag Raising.

This date has been moved up earlier in the month so the Pride flag has time to fly throughout Pride Month — visibly, proudly, and with the full recognition our LGBTQIA+ community deserves.

Pride is not just one day. It is visibility. It is community. It is a public reminder that LGBTQIA+ people live, work, love, lead, and belong here in Chester County.
