Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary worldwide. Rotary enjoys a rich and sometimes complex tradition and organizational structure, with many programs that can be confusing to new and even not-so-new

πŸ’™ Service Above Self in action.

This week, members of The Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club and guests were honored to welcome Christine Zaccarelli, Chief Executive Officer of The Crime Victims' Center of Chester County, Inc., who shared the incredible work her organization has been doing for more than 50 years to support victims of crime and educate our community.

One image she stated from her presentation stayed with us.

"Imagine people falling into a river. Some people help pull them to safety and provide support and healing. Others walk upstream to discover why people are falling in...and work to repair the bridge.
That is the power of prevention."

From victim advocacy and counseling to child safety, healthy relationships, and education programs in our schools, the Crime Victim Center's work helps create safer and stronger communities throughout Chester County.

We are grateful to Christine for sharing her time, her insights, and the compassion that guides the work of the Crime Victim Center team every day.

Thank you for being that friendly face in the room for so many who need it most. ❀️

πŸŒŽπŸ’™ Welcome to the Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club, Nestor "Tito" Co**ha!

One of the great joys of Rotary is the opportunity to learn from the experiences and talents that each member brings to our club. During his recent classification talk, Tito shared his remarkable journey from Callao, Peru, to a distinguished career in pharmaceutical research and drug discovery.

After nearly three decades advancing scientific innovation, Tito now dedicates his time to educating and mentoring students at Esperanza College, helping to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

What resonates most with Tito about Rotary is the opportunity to make an impact through friendship and service...a philosophy that aligns perfectly with our club and Rotary's motto, Service Above Self.

From scientific discovery to community service, Tito reminds us that curiosity, compassion, and a commitment to others are powerful forces for good.

Please join us in giving a warm The Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club welcome to our newest member, Nestor Tito Co**ha!

The Greater West Chester Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed representatives from the Kennett Underground Railroad Center (KURC) to share the stories, history, and courage connected to the Underground Railroad right here in Chester County.

Hearing about the abolitionists, freedom-seekers, Quaker communities, and everyday citizens who risked so much to help others reach freedom was both educational and deeply moving. One of the most powerful reminders from today was that preserving history is not just about the past, it’s about understanding the courage, sacrifice, and humanity that continue to shape our communities today.

We also learned more about the incredible work KURC is doing to preserve local history through education, storytelling, and historical preservation efforts throughout Kennett Square and beyond. Their passion for ensuring these stories are not forgotten was inspiring.

A special thank you to Adrian and Debbie Burston for an outstanding presentation and for the work they continue to do to keep these important stories alive.

Interested in learning more? KURC offers monthly bus tours, walking tours, private group tours, and history talks throughout the region. Visit Kennett Underground Railroad Center
