I started Team Lyme because of my little sister's struggle with Lyme Disease. At four years old, Chelsea suffered with achy joints, undying fatigue, fevers and tremendous headaches that kept her in bed for weeks at a time. After a few months of struggling, she was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Chelsea endured countless doctor's visits, antibiotics and treatments, but it seemed nothing would kick th

e Lyme out of Chelsea’s body. At the time, I had just started competing in runs and triathlons. I decided to combine my love for races with my passion for fighting Lyme Disease and I created, TEAM LYME!

25% of Lyme cases are in children, however, they are misdiagnosed most often. TEAM LYME’s mission is to educate parents and children about Lyme Disease so no child has to suffer like Chelsea. Lyme Disease is preventable and early detection and early treatment can alleviate chronic Lyme completely. Until Lyme Disease is no more, TEAM LYME will be here—in our signature bright lime green t-shirts—spreading the word and educating about Lyme Disease!
