Paging Dr. Todd...we have some very dedicated veterinarians at The Barn!

Last Wednesday, as part of our Community Table Initiative, we were thrilled to welcome Dr. Todd from Lenape Veterinary Clinic to join us for lunch!

Before lunch, one of our proud campers gave Dr. Todd a VIP tour of The Barn, showing off all of their favorite places and introducing him to our amazing farm family. Then, Dr. Todd made a special stop at our dramatic play veterinary hospital, where he helped some of our campers treat a few very important (and very fluffy!) patients. As you can see from the photos...our campers take their veterinary work very seriously! They were all smiles as they bandaged, examined, and cared for their stuffed animal friends right alongside a real veterinarian.

Over lunch, Dr. Todd answered tons of questions from our curious campers. They were amazed to hear about all of the different animals he cares for and couldn't believe how many years he spent in school to become a veterinarian! They loved hearing stories about his time in California, and Dr. Todd was even impressed by some of the campers' own animal knowledge and care techniques.

Many of our beloved Barn animals—including Tommy and Baxter (our barn cats), Tulip, Poppy, and Bun Bun (our bunnies)—receive their veterinary care from Dr. Todd, Dr. Tom and the wonderful team at Lenape Veterinary Clinic. They also care for many of our staff members' pets, and we are so grateful for the compassionate care they provide.

Dr. Todd also brought Miss Heather, who works at Lenape Veterinary Clinic and is an incredibly talented photographer. She generously captured these beautiful moments for our families, and we couldn't be more thankful. Heather perfectly captured the joy, curiosity, laughter, and magic that make The Barn such a special place. https://www.heatherdawsonphotos.com/

A very special thank you to Miss Kathy, who helps Mr. Chris care for all of our wonderful animals, for arranging this fantastic visit. We truly appreciate everything you do behind the scenes to create experiences like this for our campers!

And of course, thank you to Dr. Todd, Miss Heather, and everyone at Lenape Veterinary Clinic for sharing your time, your expertise, and your love of animals with us. We had an unforgettable afternoon and can't wait to welcome you back to The Barn!

Week 4 of Camp Geronimo is off to an amazing start, and we're having more fun than ever!

As part of this week's Community Table Initiative, we were honored to welcome Captain Chris Corgnati, a career Naval Officer. If his last name sounds familiar, it's because he's the husband of our Executive Director, Jeanette!

Captain Chris was a huge hit with our campers. The children were so excited for his visit that they decorated to welcome him before he arrived. During lunch, he spent time answering questions from both campers and counselors, sharing stories about his career and service. He also brought along his helmet and other gear, giving everyone the opportunity to see it up close and even try it on!

A heartfelt thank you to Captain Chris for his years of dedicated service to our country and for taking time out of his day to inspire our campers. Meeting a real-life hero is an experience they won't soon forget!

We're excited to continue our Community Table Initiative throughout the week with a few more special guests! So be sure to follow our page and see who's joining us next. We can't wait to introduce our campers to more incredible members of our community!

A big THANK YOU to Scott Scott Pruden who was our first Community Table guest of the 2026 Camp Geronimo season! ☀️
He shared his knowledge and experience of being an author and writer, and made quite the impression on one of last week’s campers whose creative imagination propels her own writing ambitions 📝😄
