1.4 million Pennsylvanians were unable to vote in this year's primary election - simply because they were not registered as a Democrat or a Republican.

Under Pennsylvania's current closed primary system, voters who are registered as Unaffiliated, Other, or Independent are prohibited from voting in primary elections. This closed system is unfair and, quite frankly, outdated.

With the state legislature back in session, it's crucial that we continue to push for open primaries in PA, so that no voter is left behind in the next primary election. Contact your legislators and let them know that all registered voters should be eligible to vote in Pennsylvania primaries.

"Pa. Senate Republican seeks — again — to eliminate ballot drop boxes, satellite voting sites"

"A state Senate committee has approved a bill that would eliminate satellite voting offices — like those in Allegheny County."

"Republican state Sen. Cris Dush of Jefferson County, who chairs the State Government committee, said expanded voting options around the state enabled voter fraud, such as “ballot stuffing" at drop boxes. Dush’s legislation, Senate Bill 599, aims to roll back measures permitted by the state Supreme Court in 2020, such as voting sites in suburban and rural areas outside of the county seat."
