URGENT: OUR SYNAGOGUE WAS STRUCK BY A RUSSIAN DRONE!

Last night, a Russian drone strike severely damaged the Great Choral Synagogue in Odessa. The blasts shattered windows, damaged the ark, and set some of TiKVA offices on fire, destroying food packages prepared for vulnerable families.

The Synagogue has served as central hub for religious life and where thousands of Ukrainian Jewish community members receive meals, education, and care.

Having survived pogroms, war, and decades of communist repression, the Synagogue is an integral part of Odessa’s Jewish life.

At TiKVA, we are already responding.

We will:
• Rebuild what was damaged
• Replace the food and supplies that were destroyed
• Continue caring for the thousands of children, families, and elderly who rely on us every day

We will not let Jewish life in Odessa disappear. But we cannot do this alone.

Emergency efforts are already underway to resume operations, and we are working to restore services and replace lost supplies as quickly as possible.

Please donate to help us rebuild, restock, and continue. Link in bio.

Happiest of birthdays to our fearless leader, our deeply caring and loving CEO, our celebrated and admired friend, and an absolutely incredible human being—Refael Kruskal!

Thank you for being our family’s anchor. And thank you for all the love, empathy, and strength, and consistent support that you generously pour into our children, staff, and all of us lucky to be in your orbit.

On this International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the many remarkable women who help make TiKVA the place of care, stability, and warmth for our children.

We are beaming with thank yous to all the wonderful women who care for our children each day, and to the many supporters who stand beside them and make this work possible.

We are profoundly grateful for the caregivers who wake up early each morning to make sure our children start their day with routine and reassurance. And for the teachers and educators who guide the children with patience and believe in their potential. And of course, for the counselors and staff who help children process difficult memories and begin to feel safe again.

And we are enormously thankful for the women in our wider TiKVA family—our Board of trustees, volunteers, and donors—whose leadership, compassion, and generosity make this work possible every day.

Your support means more than you realize.

We’re getting ready for Purim at TiKVA!

Our children are excitedly talking about trading mishloach manot (gift baskets with treats), costume ideas, and the delicious holiday meal they will share together. These joyous celebrations help childhood feel steady after so much upheaval.

As you know, these lively festivities don’t happen on their own. They are created by a loving community that chooses to show up for them.

You can help sponsor a costume, a gift basket, and/or a holiday meal so each child can fully experience the joy of Purim.

🕯️ We remember the 6 million.

Eighty-one years later, the pain of the Holocaust still echoes — and once again, war has left Jewish children without homes, parents, and safety. At TiKVA, remembrance means responsibility: to protect, to care, and to ensure that never again means never again alone.
