Santa Claus is coming to town!🎅🎄

WBFD members will be escorting old Saint Nick through the streets of West Bridgewater before he has to get back to the North Pole on December 14th. With a rain date of the 15th. Pay attention to the streets listed on the route. If your street is not listed please walk to the nearest cross street or wait until the end and see him during the final drive-by in the high school parking lot.

Anyone who ordered a Santa shirt will be notified via email when their shirts are ready for pick up. Potentially by the end of next week.

Yesterday was Deputy Chief Niklason’s last day on the books after serving the town of West Bridgewater for 32 years. He made his way through the ranks starting as a call firefighter, private, lieutenant and deputy chief. Firefighters work their entire career to one day be called a “good jake” and Deputy Niklason has earned that title. Local 2610 thanks you for your years of service to the department. Wishing you a happy and healthy retirement! We gave him the traditional “last ride home” after working his final shift.

GREAT NEWS: We just spoke with SANTA and he’s coming back to WB for a tour. He has once again asked to be shuttled around town by our members in one of our Fire Trucks. We are expecting him for the day on December 14th. Stay tuned for more details.

In addition we have some commemorative T-Shirts and Sweatshirts available for purchase. All proceeds from this apparel sale will be split between the WB Food Pantry and a local toy drive to help WB families this holiday season. The store will only be open until November 28th so don’t delay. This will allow for any apparel to be picked up in time to be worn while saying 👋 to Santa on his tour. Proud to annouce that the West Bridgewater Firefighters Local 2610 members raised $8,824.06 from our annual “fill the boot” fundraiser. All of the money raised gets donated directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Thank you to all the townspeople and surrounding communities who donated!

Congratulations to FF / Paramedic Tyler Maloney on his completion of the Massachusetts Fire Academy. Tyler has also just completed his first year of probation at the same time. Well done!

23 years has passed and we still never forget the sacrifices made by the 343 FDNY firefighters, 60 police officers and 13 EMT’s on September 11th.

Please take the time to pay tribute to all those affected by this tragedy at our 9/11 memorial across from the station.

Rest in peace to Officer Mike Kominsky. Mike was a great police officer and even better friend. Deepest condolences to his family, friends and members of the West Bridgewater Police Department. Gone far too soon.

Boston Firefighters Local 718 deeply regrets to announce the passing of Brother Firefighter Matthew Troy, Engine Company 10, Line of Duty Death-Cancer.
Brother Troy epitomized what it means to be a Boston Firefighter. The courage and determination he displayed in the performance of his duties was outmatched only by his spirit in his fight against cancer.
We ask that everyone respect his family during this difficult time and hold them in your thoughts and prayers.
