FEATURE FRIDAY! 💚 Meet Sharon, a lifelong 4-H advocate. Beginning her 4-H journey at age 10, she discovered a passion for food and nutrition while developing strong leadership skills as a junior leader. A state winner in food and nutrition her senior year, Sharon went on to earn degrees from Ferris State University and Michigan State University. Sharon said she learned many skills from 4-H that continued throughout her life with the most prevalent being leadership.
Her career with MSU included roles in nutrition education and 4-H, where she even shared 4-H programming internationally in Japan and various other countries. Sharon's influence reached thousands of youth, leaving a lasting local and global impact. Though retired, Sharon remains actively involved through the 4-H Foundation and Ogemaw Friends of Extension.
Sharon’s story is a wonderful reminder of the extended impact 4-H can have.

FEATURE FRIDAY! 💚 Meet Elton: Although Elton wasn’t a 4-H member himself, his connection to the program began years ago when his children were actively involved, and later, his grandchildren followed in their footsteps. During those early years, Elton stepped up as a 4-H leader, supporting youth and helping create meaningful experiences.
Now, in retirement, Elton has come full circle, once again serving as a 4-H leader. Today, he’s making a lasting impact by leading the local archery club, where he’s doing an outstanding job mentoring and guiding young people.
Elton shared, “4-H is, to me, a place where children can learn important life skills that they can pass on to their children in the future.”
Thank you, Elton, for sharing your story and dedicating your time to helping local youth enhance their archery skills!
