Two of the farms biggest and kindest supporters, Jason Aikens and Amy Harshman-Aikens, both had some pretty serious medical conditions this week (just days apart). Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery ❤️🙏

**if you have a kid who comes to the farm please ask them to make a get well card and send with them to the barn😉

🐴 Farrier Day at the barn! 🐴

Every 6–7 weeks, our horses get an important visit from Ian, our farrier. At $60 per horse each visit, it’s a significant part of our horse care budget, but one of the most important investments we make. Ian does an excellent job keeping their hooves healthy and balanced so they stay sound, comfortable, and safe for the kids to ride. We’re grateful for the back breaking job he does to keep our herd happy and healthy!

Small businesses who don’t just advertise but support ❤️🙌🏻

As we wrap up National Small Business Month, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank the small businesses that continually invest in our community.

Whether it's sponsoring youth sports teams, supporting 4-H auctions, donating to fundraisers, helping local clubs, or stepping up whenever there's a need, it often seems to be the same businesses answering the call time and time again. These businesses aren't just here to make a living—they're helping build the community we all get to enjoy.

In this photo, Shane from SRE Painting is hanging sponsor banners in our arena. These banners represent our MAJOR SPONORS that support our farm and our mission. While we receive our fair share of grant declinations (it is incredibly discouraging)—many from larger organizations—we can almost always count on our local businesses to do their part.

Their support helps create opportunities for our kids, strengthens local programs, and makes our community a better place to live. It doesn't go unnoticed.

So, the next time you need a service, contractor, supplies, or are looking to make a purchase, think about who is giving back to the community. The businesses whose prices may be a little higher are often the same ones sponsoring youth sports, supporting 4-H, donating to fundraisers, and investing in local organizations. When you support them, you're helping support our children, our community, and our future.

Thank you to all of the small businesses that continue to show up for our community. We appreciate you more than you know.

Jax made sure to supervise while the kids got the garden planted! 🌱 They’ll be taking care of it all summer, harvesting everything they grow this fall, and then learning how to make healthy dishes using the foods they harvested 🍅🥒🥕

It’s Thank You Thursday, and we’re excited to recognize our 2026 Horseshoe Sponsors! Their generosity makes it possible for us to continue providing the farm experience free of charge for every child who visits.

If you’d like to become a sponsor, we’d love to hear from you. You can also support us through our Amazon Wish List under Max-Well Therapy Center, and Tractor Supply gift cards are always greatly appreciated.
