I got a call asking if I knew of any resources to help one of our riders’ families get some meat. I’m not sure what their abilities are, but I wanted to explore whether there might be an opportunity for them to do some work in exchange. I’m not sure if that’s even an option, but thought it would be a good place to start!

Today we say “Good luck” and “See you soon!” to our wonderful volunteer, Sarah Morley!

Sarah heads back to the University of Findlay today to continue working toward becoming a pediatric psychologist, with hopes of working in a school district after graduation.

She has been an amazing help all summer, bringing both a kid-focused heart and lots of horse experience to the farm. We’re going to miss her!

Please help us wish Sarah safe travels, a great school year, and lots of luck! Now hurry up and get that degree—the demand is HUGE! 🎓

One of our riders asked me how Ted and Delta Wangler sponsor Moon. I explained that they own him and cover his care so he can stay at the farm for kids to ride, learn from, and enjoy.

Her response: “I want to do that when I get older and get job.”

And that’s exactly what we hope to inspire in our kids — to work hard, give back, and someday do the same for others. ❤️

We’ve heard several times that people think we bill Medicaid for our riders’ lessons, but we don’t. Because we don’t meet the state’s billing requirements, fundraising and grants are essential to keeping our programs going.

Today, one of our riders came with their therapist from ABA Pathways, and she shared what they are currently working on and we were able to use the horses to support the goals. That’s our vision—to complement other therapies, not replace them, and work together toward the best outcomes for every rider.
