Protecting New Jersey Shoppers and Working Families! 🛒✊

Today marks a major win for consumer fairness and transparent pricing across the Garden State! UFCW Local 360 President Sam Ferraino was proud to stand alongside state leaders and community advocates as Governor Mikie Sherrill signed the Fair Price Protection Act into law.

This groundbreaking legislation takes aim at dynamic surveillance pricing by banning big grocery chains and retailers from using personal data and algorithms to jack up prices on essential goods for individual shoppers.

Technology should help people, not drive up grocery prices. This new law protects shoppers from unfair AI pricing and helps preserve good union grocery jobs. That's progress we can all support.

The state's new Fair Price Protection Act is a first-of-its-kind law that bans predatory AI-driven pricing tech in grocery stores, protecting fair prices for families and good, union grocery jobs.
