Chix 4 a Cause is community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been helping people who are fighting cancer for more than a decade. We do this by providing Gifts of Love and, in turn, make a difference in the lives of people (all ages and genders) who are fighting cancer (all types of cancer). Because they are unique to the individual’s needs, Gifts of Love come in all shapes and sizes. They might be a one-time monetary gift or service, assistance with housing expenses or groceries, a weekend getaway, tickets to an event, or something as simple as a gas card or a taxi ride. The commonality the Gifts share is the reason they exist: to help with the “extras” by doing a little extra—one Gift of Love at a time. The annual spring Evening of Celebration is the main organization-sponsored fundraising event, but we don’t do this alone. We have several business partners and organizations that also sponsor a variety of fundraisers throughout the year to support the cause. Thanks to these businesses, organizations and many dedicated volunteers, we have provided more than $180,000 in Gifts of Love and have expanded our reach beyond our Washington County roots to be able to service all of southeastern Wisconsin.
