⚾ West Bend Little League Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Caden!

It is always incredibly special when a player goes through our entire program and returns to the dugout to give back to the next generation. This week, we are thrilled to feature a homegrown leader who has spent nearly his entire life on our local diamonds and is now dedicated to preparing our oldest players for the next level.

Get to know Coach Caden, leading the Juniors — Redefined Realty Red Sox!

🧢 The Basics
Current Division & Team: Juniors — Redefined Realty Red Sox

Coaching Experience: Coach Caden has been mentoring youth athletes since wrapping up his own West Bend Little League playing career in 2021. He jumped right into leading his first team in Fall Ball and has spent the last two spring seasons coaching on the Junior diamond.

A Lifelong Umpire: Caden’s dedication to the league runs deep—he has been a certified umpire for West Bend Little League since he was 14 years old and continues to call games today!

🏆 Coaching Philosophy & Memorable Moments
Coaching 7th and 8th graders means preparing them for the fast-approaching world of high school sports. Coach Caden bases his dugout approach on three core pillars: Baseball Fundamentals, Focus, and Developing the Ability to Cope with Adversity.

"Like high school coaches, I am just meeting the kids on my team, so all I know is how they perform on the field right now. They have a clean slate and the chance to show me how they can best contribute. This might be pitching, catching, or another position they’ve never played before."

The Joy of the Journey: His absolute favorite part of coaching is watching the massive transformation in the players from the very first practice to the final game of the summer. He has a true passion for working closely with young pitchers to hone their mechanics on the mound.

From Player to Coach: Caden has incredible memories from both sides of the clipboard. As a player, his ultimate milestone was throwing a spectacular no-hitter to win the WBLL Junior Championship alongside his closest friends. As a coach, his favorite moments come from watching his players grow deeply passionate about the sport and seeing their rigorous off-season efforts pay off in real-time results.

⚾ Just For Fun
16 Years on the Dirt: Families might be surprised to learn the sheer depth of Coach Caden's local playing resume! At just 20 years old, he has already been playing baseball in the area for 16 years—moving through T-Ball, West Bend Little League, WBLL District Teams, the WB Bulldogs, the Jackson J-Hawks, and West Bend West High School. He still actively plays competitive baseball and softball today.

In the Scoring Booth: He is currently a junior at UW-Milwaukee studying accounting, where he also works for the UWM Athletic Department scoring games for soccer, volleyball, basketball, and baseball. He even had a front-row seat to watch the 2026 UWM Men's Baseball team make their historic run to the NCAA Regionals!

Favorite Player: His favorite professional player of all time is the Brewers' absolute powerhouse pitcher, Jacob Misiorowski.

🏡 Family & Community Connection
Coach Caden was born and raised right here, and his family has proudly called West Bend home for nearly 25 years. He is a proud product of McLane, Jackson, Silverbrook, and Badger, and graduated from West Bend West High School, where he excelled in baseball, basketball, and tennis.

The name on the Red Sox jerseys represents a family deeply woven into the fabric of West Bend Little League:

His mom, Tara, manages Children’s Wisconsin laboratory services statewide. Around our complex, she is an indispensable leader serving as the WBLL Vice-President and Safety Officer, having contributed as a coach and board member since 2010.

His dad, Bill, works in real estate and is the proud sponsor behind our Redefined Realty Little League teams (keep an eye out for his banners around the fields!).

His older brother, Carson (25), is a fellow WBLL alum (2010–2015) who played Bulldogs for Coach Jim D’Angelo and Coach Pat Weber. Carson also spent years umpiring for District 1 and continues to umpire and share the field playing baseball and softball with his younger brother. Carson graduated from UW-Whitewater and currently works locally for James Tarantino Roofing LLC.

Thank you, Coach Caden, for your lifelong dedication to our league, your excellent transition mentorship on the Junior diamond, and the incredible example you set for our players!

⚾ West Bend Little League Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Michael Polze

A thriving baseball league relies on leaders who aren't afraid to challenge players, push them out of their comfort zones, and teach them the true meaning of resilience. This week, we are proud to introduce a coach who grew up right here on our local fields and is now dedicated to shaping the next generation of well-rounded athletes.

Get to know Coach Michael Polze, leading Jumbo's Giants in the Junior Division!

🧢 The Basics
Current Division & Team: Jumbo's Giants (Junior Division)

Coaching Experience: Coach Michael is right in the middle of his second year of coaching youth baseball.

Homegrown Roots: Michael is a true lifelong member of our community, growing up right here in West Bend and attending McLane Elementary and Silverbrook Intermediate before graduating from West Bend East High School in 2006.

🏆 Coaching Philosophy & Memorable Moments
Coach Michael’s approach to the diamond is all about expanding horizons and building a versatile team where every player can grow.

"My philosophy focuses on giving kids the opportunity to try and play multiple positions on the field in hopes to challenge them and make them a more well-rounded player."

Embracing the New: He strongly believes in giving young athletes the chance to test out new positions and skills while they can, helping them discover hidden strengths and build overall baseball IQ.

An Unforgettable Playoff Run: Out of his time in the dugout, Coach Michael's favorite memory comes from last season. His team had faced an incredibly uphill battle, struggling with injuries all year long. When the playoffs arrived, they found themselves with exactly nine players healthy enough to take the field. With zero substitutes and their backs against the wall, the squad dug in and rallied to win a spectacular four games in just five days, clawing their way all the way to the Championship game. It is that exact "never give up" energy he brings to Jumbo's Giants this season!

🏡 Family & Community Connection
After heading off to college at UW-Oshkosh from 2006 to 2011, Coach Michael knew exactly where he wanted to plant his roots. He moved back home to West Bend in 2013 alongside his wife, Amanda, whom he originally met back in high school.

Today, they are proudly raising three children together:

Their son, Aiden, gets to share the diamond with his dad this summer, playing hard as a proud member of the Giants lineup!

Cheering them both on from the sidelines are Aiden's younger sisters, Harper and Quinn, making every game a true family affair.

Thank you, Coach Michael, for your exceptional leadership, your dedication to developing well-rounded players, and everything you do for the families of West Bend Little League!

🥎 West Bend Little League Softball Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Gary Knoeck!

A positive foundation is everything when young athletes are discovering a sport. Today, we are thrilled to feature a coach who is completely dedicated to keeping the game rewarding, encouraging, and—above all else—fun for our athletes.

Get to know Coach Gary Knoeck, the guiding force behind the Minors Softball - VLS Environmental Solutions squad!

🧢 The Basics
Current Division & Team: Minors Softball - VLS Environmental Solutions

Coaching Experience: After serving a season as an assistant coach, Coach Gary is currently knocking it out of the park in his first season as head coach.

West Bend Roots: Coach Gary is a West Bend native who has proudly lived in our community his whole life!

🏆 Coaching Philosophy & Memorable Moments
For Coach Gary, youth softball is all about building up a player's spirit just as much as their skill set.

"My core goal when coaching young athletes is to make sure they are having fun while playing softball... creating a positive experience is what matters most."

Celebrating Growth: Because many of the girls at the Minors level are brand new to the sport or only have a single season under their belts, Coach Gary's absolute favorite part of coaching is watching their development. He loves seeing their confidence rise, watching them learn to communicate effectively with teammates, and seeing them grow as individuals both on and off the dirt.

The Power of Positivity: He firmly believes that high-pressure environments belong at older levels. In his dugout, mistakes are treated as a completely natural part of learning. When an error happens, the team talks through it, learns from it, and immediately shifts their focus to the very next play—teaching true resilience.

Pure Pride on the Diamond: Rather than pointing to a single scoreboard victory, Coach Gary says his favorite moments happen continuously. He lives for the pure excitement, pride, and skyrocketing confidence that lights up a player's face the exact second a hard-earned skill clicks—whether it's a big hit at the plate or a stellar defensive play in the field.

🍳 Just For Fun
Master of the Grill: Families might be surprised to learn that Coach Gary is a passionate cook! Whether he is smoking meats, grilling, or firing up the Blackstone griddle, he loves creating incredible meals for family and friends. Much like coaching, his favorite part is seeing the smiles and reactions when everyone takes that very first bite.

Home Team Favorites: He is a loyal Milwaukee Brewers fan, naming catcher William Contreras as his favorite current player, alongside the legendary voice of summer himself, Bob Uecker.

🏡 Family & Community Connection
Family is at the center of everything Coach Gary does. He has been married to his wife, Autumn, for 14 years, and together they share a bustling combined household of four children (ages 20, 18, 17, and 11).

The sport has also given him a fantastic opportunity to bond with his youngest:

Coach Gary has the distinct privilege of coaching his 11-year-old daughter, Khloe, on the VLS Environmental Solutions team this year! Sharing the diamond with her, building lasting memories, and watching her grow alongside her teammates has made his first head coaching season incredibly rewarding.

Thank you, Coach Gary, for your fantastic leadership, your focus on positivity, and your dedication to fostering a lifelong love of softball in our community!

⚾ West Bend Little League Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Patrick Weber!

A great baseball program relies on experienced leaders who teach players how to navigate the game with sportsmanship, resilience, and respect. Today, we are proud to introduce a coach who has spent nearly a decade mentoring local athletes and helping them channel their hard work into championship-level success.

Get to know Coach Patrick Weber, leading the Juniors — U13 Van Ert's Athletics & U13 Bulldogs!

🧢 The Basics
Current Division & Teams: Juniors — U13 Van Ert's Athletics & U13 Bulldogs

Coaching Experience: Coach Patrick has been dedicated to youth baseball for 7 years.

A Family Coaching Duo: The baseball journey is a shared family experience in the Weber dugout, as Patrick's oldest son, Bradley, serves as an assistant coach right alongside him.

🏆 Coaching Philosophy & Memorable Moments
For Coach Patrick, the diamond is the perfect classroom to prepare young athletes for the challenges of the future.

"The goal is to teach them to respect the game, support one another through both wins and losses, and learn how to handle the highs and lows that come with competition."

The Joy of the Journey: His absolute favorite part of coaching is watching the players grow and learn over the years, both as ballplayers and teammates. He focuses on building a foundation that prepares them for high school athletics and beyond.

Championship Memories: Coach Patrick has been treated to some truly unforgettable milestones on the field. One of his favorite memories goes back to 2016 with his older son's Bulldog team, when they captured a thrilling District Championship to punch their ticket to the State Tournament. More recently, he shared a major victory with his younger son's team, taking home the Championship trophy in Clintonville.

A Tear in the Eye: In both historic wins, it wasn't just the trophy that mattered. What stood out most—and brought a tear to his eye—was seeing the pure excitement on the players' faces and realizing how far they had come through their hard work, growth, and deep commitment to each other as a team.

🎳 Just For Fun
Perfect Game Pride: Outside of the ballpark, Coach Patrick stays highly active. He loves to fish and golf, and he is a talented bowler who has rolled a couple of perfect 300 games!

Facing a Future Big Leaguer: He played high school baseball at Greendale, where he had a brush with future Major League success during his junior year. Standing on the mound, Patrick had the opportunity to pitch to future MLB star Joe Randa. As Patrick puts it, "it's safe to say he went yard on me!"

A Famous Connection: As a fun Hollywood side note, his cousin-in-law is Doug, the famous, yellow-shirt-wearing spokesperson from the Liberty Mutual commercials!

Favorite Players: His favorite all-time greats include Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres for being an incredible all-around athlete and pure hitter, Fred "Crime Dog" McGriff from the Atlanta Braves, and the legendary Nolan Ryan—"The Ryan Express"—during his dominant years with Houston and Texas.

🏡 Family & Community Connection
After relocating from West Allis and Greendale, Coach Patrick and his family have happily called the West Bend area home for 23 years, building lifelong friendships along the way.

The Weber household is deeply rooted in our community and sports programs:

He has been married to his wife, Michelle, for 29 years. Michelle works hard off the field as a Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster at Cities & Villages Mutual Insurance Company.

Their oldest son, Bradley (24), works for a local landscaping company when he isn't helping his dad coach in the dugout.

Their youngest son, Zackery (12), attends Holy Angels School and keeps the family year-round sports tradition alive by playing hard for both the U13 Bulldogs and the Junior Van Ert A’s.

Rounding out the lineup are their two beloved Labrador Retrievers, Reggie and Jackson!

Thank you, Coach Patrick, for your 7 years of exceptional leadership, your focus on character, and your incredible commitment to the players and families of West Bend Little League!

⚾ West Bend Little League Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Glen Deutschendorf!

Our league families know him on the field, but we want everyone to get to know the incredible person behind the clipboard. This week, we are thrilled to feature Coach Glen Deutschendorf, who is currently leading the U10 Bulldogs and the JT Rams Roofing Padres (Intermediate).

Experience: 4 seasons coaching youth baseball

Local Roots: Living in the West Bend area for 9 years

⚾ Coaching Philosophy & Memories
On what he loves most about coaching:
"Watching the players grow year over year—not just in their skills, but in their confidence and character—and seeing the genuine bond and love they build for one another as teammates."

His Core Philosophy:
Coach Glen is all about development and fairness. He believes in giving every single player the opportunity to experience each position on the field. He focuses on creating a supportive environment where mistakes aren’t criticized, but rather used as valuable learning moments. His ultimate goal is to build confidence, encourage growth, and help each athlete develop both fundamentally and mentally.

Most Memorable Coaching Moment:
"My most memorable coaching moment so far came a few weeks ago at the Whitnall Tournament during the semifinals. We won 6–3 in what was the most complete game I’ve been a part of as a coach. Our pitching and defense were outstanding, and offensively we delivered timely hits exactly when we needed them. More importantly, it reinforced to the players that when we play our brand of baseball, we can compete with anyone."

🎳 Just For Fun
Favorite MLB Team: The Milwaukee Brewers! 🪵⚾

A Surprising Fun Fact:
When he's not on the diamond, Coach Glen dominates the bowling lanes! He is an avid bowler with an incredible track record: 6 State titles, 3 City titles, 43 perfect 300 games, and a massive collection of over 60 bowling balls!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family & Community Connection
Glen has been happily married to his wife, Rachel, for 14 years, and they have two wonderful kids who keep them busy:

Grace (12): A 6th grader at Silverbrook Intermediate, Grace is a natural-born performer! She is the family’s resident "drama queen" (literally), having already performed in 10 plays and counting. She loves to sing and dance every chance she gets and was truly made for the spotlight.

Carter (10): A 4th grader at Green Tree Elementary, Carter plays shortstop and pitcher for the U10 Bulldogs—though he happily plays wherever his dad needs him on the field! In the winter, he trades the diamond for the court to play basketball with the Living Word Jr. Timberwolves.

A Huge Thank You to Coach Glen!
Whether he is encouraging a player after a tough inning, teaching the fundamentals of a new position, or throwing strikes at the bowling alley, Coach Glen is a fantastic asset to West Bend Little League. Next time you see him at the fields, be sure to say hello and thank him for his dedication to our players!

⚾ West Bend Little League Coach Spotlight: Meet Coach Eric Osinski!

A truly great youth sports experience is about more than just what happens between the white lines—it is about the community, families, and lifelong friendships built along the way. Today, we are thrilled to feature a coach who has spent nearly a decade fostering an incredible, tight-knit village for our young athletes.

Get to know Coach Eric Osinski, leading the U12 Bulldogs / Forte Bank Rockies Intermediate squad!

🧢 The Basics
Current Division & Team: U12 Bulldogs / Forte Bank Rockies (Intermediate)

Coaching Experience: Coach Eric has been mentoring youth baseball players for 7 years.

🏆 Coaching Philosophy & Memorable Moments
As his players have grown up on the diamond, Coach Eric's coaching goals have evolved right alongside them to prepare them for the next level.

"Our base goals are: Improve every day even if it’s just 1% and compete on every pitch at the plate or in the field."

High School Ready: For the players who want to keep chasing the game, Coach Eric’s long-term baseball goal is to provide them with the skills, mindset, and ability needed to successfully transition to high school baseball. He strives to use the game to teach life lessons, build character, and create unbreakable bonds.

On the Diamond Highlights: From watching the pure joy on his players' faces during tournament championship wins to witnessing the team click for their very first 6-4-3 double play, the on-field milestones have been unforgettable. His teams have also had the distinct privilege of playing under the lights at Helfaer Field!

Dugout Fun & a Furry Mascot: Some of Coach Eric's absolute favorite memories have actually happened away from the field. From traveling together for weekend tournaments and stopping at restaurants on the way home, to a giant team slip-and-slide, this group knows how to have fun. They even have an unofficial team mascot: Peanuts the squirrel!

🎶 Just For Fun
A "Secret" Passion: Families might be surprised to learn that Coach Eric harbors a "secret" love for boy bands!

The Home Team: Naturally, he is a huge fan of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Favorite Players: Growing up, he admired legends who played the right way, like Robin Yount, Cal Ripken Jr., Ken Griffey Jr., Tony Gwynn, Derek Jeter, Ichiro, and Omar Vizquel. These days, he loves watching Brice Turang and Trea Turner—dynamic players who serve as perfect examples for young ballplayers to emulate.

🏡 Family & Community Connection
Coach Eric and his family have been proud residents of the West Bend area for 11 years. For the Osinski household, the ballpark is a second home:

His wife, Dawn, is a "baseball mom" in all its glory, organizing team get-togethers, custom keepsakes, and loudly cheering on her favorite player, number 17.

Their son, Oliver (12), has been playing since he could first pick up a ball and has been a proud Bulldog since he was 8. He is heading to Badger Middle School next fall, and when he isn't playing baseball, he plays defense for the Badger youth football team and loves snowboarding.

Their daughter, Charlotte (8), attends St. John's and is the ultimate supportive sister, always helping watch over the younger kids or hanging out with the older girls at the park. While she loves basketball and figure skating, she is officially making her own baseball debut this summer!

🤝 A Shoutout to the Village
Coach Eric heavily emphasizes that a successful season is a massive group effort. He feels incredibly blessed by the deeply involved families—past and present—and his dedicated assistant coaches who take total ownership of the boys' growth on and off the field. Our families are truly invested in making this a wonderful experience in every way possible.

Thank you, Coach Eric, for your 7 years of exceptional leadership, your focus on everyday improvement, and your dedication to the families of West Bend Little League!
