Another great Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting is in the books.

Attendance was a little lighter than usual, which was expected considering we just met two weeks ago and we’re right in the middle of graduation season, finals, and everything else that comes with June.

That being said, the meeting was still a success. The conversations were great, the networking was valuable, and the opportunity to learn from one another is something we’ll continue to build on.

Now let’s focus on the next one.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, July 15th at The Piermont in Babylon. Let’s get it on the calendar now. For both mentors and mentees, it’s important that we keep the momentum going throughout the summer and continue building what we’ve started.

As always, a huge thank you to Steve for providing the space every month and supporting our mission.

We’ll see everyone on July 15th. Try to arrive by 6:30 PM so we can get started on time.

I’m very proud of these boys.

Nick, to the left, will be with us for 2 years next month. He came from our Head Start Fund meetings and started a week after he graduated from high school. Nick basically made it impossible for me not to hire him bc he was so persistent and kept asking me at every meeting to come work with us.

Ben, in the middle, started coming to our head start fund meeting back in the fall, and we hired him right away because I loved his attitude and personality (literally the nicest kid I’ve ever met). Ben also started a few months after he graduated from high school.

Mike to the right, I met coaching football for my son’s PAL team, and I was so impressed with his attitude, organization, and leadership right away. He was already plumbing for another company, so I didn’t want to steal him away, but luckily for us, he asked to come work with us 2 months into coaching together, and this fall, he will be with us for 2 years.

You all are looking at the future leaders of this company and I will continue to push them each step of the way because I already can see what they are capable of.

Don't miss this one.

The next Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting is this Wednesday, June 3rd.

We just had a meeting two weeks ago, but after a vote, everyone wanted to keep this one on the schedule rather than skip the month.

Please try to get there by 6:30 PM so we can start promptly at 7:00 PM.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Most people don’t end up where they thought they would.

That was one of the biggest lessons from last night’s Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting with Rich Concannon.

Rich started in automotive engineering, stepped away when he realized it wasn’t the right fit, took a chance working in Manhattan, became an apprentice in Local 94, and worked his way up to operating some of the biggest skyscrapers in New York City.

The lesson for these kids is simple. Stay open-minded. Keep showing up. Keep networking. You never know where one opportunity can lead.

Another great Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting last night.

Huge thank you to Rich for coming down and speaking with the kids. We learned so much about what it really takes to operate a Manhattan skyscraper from top to bottom. From security guards and elevator operators to head engineers and the many behind-the-scenes trades, it was an eye-opening night for everyone in the room.

Also, a huge shoutout to Steve for continuing to support what we do by giving us a space to meet, feeding everyone, and always going above and beyond for these kids. We appreciate you more than you know.

Our next meeting will be on June 3rd. I hope to see everyone there.

I was truly honored to speak at the Honor Society Induction Ceremony this week.

Seeing so many hardworking students being recognized for their dedication, growth, and commitment to their future was incredibly inspiring. The trades and technology industries need young people like this, and I’m excited to see what they accomplish next.

Thank you to the Farmingdale High School Technology Department for inviting me to be part of such a special night, and congratulations again to all of the inductees. Keep pushing forward.

Opportunity is everywhere if you know where to look.

The mechanical rooms in these videos are from just ONE building in Manhattan. Two million square feet. Think about how many careers it takes to keep that building running every day.

May 20th at 7 PM, Rich Concannon is speaking at the Ryan Anthony Head Start Fund meeting at The Piermont in Babylon.

If you’re looking for direction, opportunity, or a future career path, be there.

Exposing yourself to different career opportunities is one of the best uses of your time as a young person.
