Relay is a community event to celebrate our cancer survivors and honor those we've lost. We gather together to celebrate, remember, and fight back by raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Teams of family and friends "Relay" around the track. The main idea is for each team to have at least one team member walking the track at any given time. The relay concept allows people to walk as much

or as little as they can. But don't worry there is no "track police" so if your whole team needs a break no problem! There are also games, a silent auction, ceremonies, music, food, and lots of fun! How do you honor cancer patients? We have different ceremonies throughout the event. The Survivor Lap and Luminaria are two of the key elements to every Relay. What is the Luminaria Ceremony? After dark, we honor people who have been touched by cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease during the Luminaria Ceremony. Candles are lit inside bags filled with sand, each one bearing the name of a person touched by cancer, and participants often walk a lap in silence. Relay is FREE family-friendly event for the entire community. Donations are always welcome. There is no requirement to stay the entire duration of the event. The best way to learn about Relay is to experience it, stop by and see us!
